Damn....Just thought of one major problem if I switch to maxis fixed line. 99% of the outgoing calls from my home fixed line were calling TM fixed line. That means no longer free call.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 3 2012, 11:54 PM) QUOTE(ryudell @ Jun 4 2012, 07:35 AM) The is no such thing as MNP TM fixed lines. To evaluate the actual cost savings of rm30 between unifi and maxis home fiber more precisely, one have to relook at his past TM homeline bill for free calls made to TM fixed lines nationwide. As we're all aware that 99% of all fixed lines nationwide are from TM. Switching over to non TM fixed line would means you have to pay for calling a non individual like offices, banks, government, non toll free helpline line maybank2u 1300886688 etc etc. |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 4 2012, 10:29 AM) My idea was My family member cook porridge over TM free calls with inter city relatives. Damn..1. call them on their Maxis Mobile 2. If they are not on Maxis Mobile, MNP their mobile to Maxis lah... of course I know fixed line cannot MNP (Mobile Number Portability) Your case is special.... with lots of fixed line calls.. Asking other people to change and suit my advantange is not an option for me. QUOTE(ryudell @ Jun 4 2012, 10:34 AM) i think u get the wrong idea here..even idiots know that tm numbers cant be ported!! You have problem expressing yourself without putting unpleasant language in your reply ? what that person trying to say was port their mobile no to maxis (if on other provider) hahaha..now days people use mobile phone a lot.. home phone has been like "a history" Incase i need to stretch again, I'm talking about the calls from Maxis fixed line to TM fixed line. Not calls made to mobile, therefore mobile MNP is irrelevant in my discussion. I certainly agreed with your statement that 'people use mobile phone a lot' and 'fixed line is history' if I'm looking at it from a carefree individual point of view. But as the matter of fact, fixed line is not yet a history if you have the change to look at it from a different perspective such as you as a company, an office bearer, you as a care taker of your elderly parent at home, etc etc. we are merely discussing advantages and disadvantages of switching over to maxis home fiber, there is not need to rave and mouth foaming This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jun 4 2012, 11:48 AM |

QUOTE(KAHAK @ Jun 5 2012, 05:17 PM) Friend familiar to networking said 10mbps is achievable for domestic servers located in Malaysia only because sharing of fibre infra with TM Unify dose not include TM overseas fibre. Accessing overseas portals such as You tube and Google should be fast since they have local servers in Malaysia. To verify this claim, He suggest those who already have Maxis fibre home 10MB go to speedtest.net to do a comparison speed texts ie oversea server and Kuala Lumpur server. If you have done the comparison tests, please post the result here. Thank you. |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Jun 13 2012, 11:51 PM) Calls to non-Maxis fixed lines @RM0.05/min local & RM0.09/min nationwide. No more unlimited free call to tm fixed line but can be compensated by 600 free minutes to maxis mobile, 200 free idd call minutes, 150 free minutes from your maxis mobile to any malaysian telco. I excluded the unlimited free calls to maxis fixed line as it is still not relevant at the moment. The total free minutes Is worth over rm100 already based on average market price if one fully utilise it. You lose some, you gain some, depending on your preference. |

QUOTE(amxpayne67 @ Jun 15 2012, 02:57 PM) Mine got installation on 18/6..since i register, they change the time if installation 3 times already..all on the same date but different time..first say 10 am then change to 1pm yesterday said 9.30am..anyway would like to ask here who have installed FTTH at high rise building is there got any extra charge? cause i plan to put the modem inside my bedroom (got telephone outlet socket) In the bedroom ? You sure you want to sleep near your wifi modem at full radio wave strength ?It's best to put it at the TV rack in the living room for future IPTV connection. Saving RM200 for the cost of buying a pair of HomePlug. |

QUOTE(88sales88 @ Jun 18 2012, 11:29 AM) Anyone has any idea how to configure the Maxis home fibre to allow SIP/VOIP Calls using smartphone on WIFI ? MHF blocked third party SIP / VoIP using smartphone on wifi ?I am trying to get rid of the Thomson and the VOIP seems the main challenge at the moment. |

Just got this info that MHF VoIP fixed line CAN'T forward voice calls.
If one plan to fully utilise the 600 free minutes by forwarding incoming calls to his Maxis mobile or hotlink during a long outstation trip, it is not possible at the moment. |

maxis helper in maxis forum gave wrong info about 150 free minutes on maxis mobile ? QUOTE quote: Originally posted by kone99 Can i know how this works? Lets say im using the value first plan for my mobile, with monthly commitment fee of RM30. This mobile number would have additional 150mins free calls from my maxis home account. Can i know these free calls are for all networks or only Maxis numbers(fixed or mobile?). Then how are we charged? For lets say if its only for maxis numbers, will the minutes be deducted off the ftth account first or will be charged onto the RM30 cimmitment fees? Hi kone99, If you have subscribed to our 10Mbps Maxis Home Fibre Internet package, you are entitled to enjoy 150 minutes of free calls on your Maxis Mobile. In order to enjoy this, you will have to provide your selected postpaid mobile number from your Maxis postpaid account during registration of the fibre internet or contact us if you have not done so earlier. These 150 minutes free calls on your Maxis mobile can be made to all local operators regardless of fixed or mobile numbers. The 150 minutes will be deducted off from your FTTH first and then the calls made after the 150 minutes will be charged into your postpaid account according to your rateplan. Please contact us should you require further assistance. Thank you. |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Jun 27 2012, 11:20 AM) When are they going to implement the quota? Is the 100GB quota for download+upload combined? I'm a heavy HD movies downloader, I don't want to regret myself by upgrading to this package since I'm enjoying my current 1MB streamyx with unlimited quota (I downloaded > 100GB of movies per month) I doubt even Sandip Das has answer for you too. The most appropriate answer at the moment is "quota will be implemented when the Maxis Home Fibre network gets congested"However, my persona prediction is that it will come faster than Unify based on the fact that Maxis has no control over fire infra and Maxis is a profit oriented company rather than TM, a GLC with social responsibility back ground. If you are hardcore down loader, you should stick to Unify or Streamyx. If you are hardcore porridge cooker over maxis voice network, then MHF is an undisputed option. |

QUOTE(Cowhide @ Jun 27 2012, 05:04 PM) Can we register the postpaid account a few months, after installation and still get the free 150mins? If I'm not mistaken, yes you still can register later. Maxis home fixed line also gives you 600 free minutes to call all maxis mobile numbers and is worth rm60 already if based on market average on-net call rate of 10sen per min. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jun 27 2012, 05:14 PM |
