I recently used /Slowmyx/ and upgrading to this..
I hope the technicians will call and come to install ASAP..
The people told me that it may take up to 1 month or more since they have lots of customers and less technicians..
I never used Unifi before so how long do you think the installation will take for double storey house?

Maxis said free installation until further notice.. did the technicians ask for payment? I hope the cables don't have to be extended since if wanna extend more than 15metre must pay extra.

My comp at ground floor..
I registered on Monday (4th June)..
My location at USJ 6.. I hope I don't need to wait for 1 month... 2 weeks at least T_T
For those who live in double storey houses you guys need cable extension or not?

And yeah if lets say we registered when the installation fees are still waived, lets say our during date of installation the fees are not waived anymore do you think we still have to pay RM200? :S

Wow you got your call in 2 days.. not even a week!
I also subscribed on Monday from the nearest Maxis centre.. those are authorized dealers.. hopefully won't delay since I subscribed through authorized dealer instead of going to those big Maxis HQs.\

Does it also depend on your location? Certain areas have their technicians to come faster?

I checked the Maxis Home FAQ here http://www.maxis.com.my/home/faq.asp

Might call 1800 82 1123 to check with the process of my application..
At www.maxis.com.my/help/contact_us.asp
there's a number for Broadband but not for Home. So I think 1800 82 1123 and 123 should be the number.

Maxis called and they said mine will be on 11th July.. OMG.. long way to go weh ==
They said the schedules are prepared by TM because they are using TM's technicians.. Hopefully Maxis has the courtesy to get more technicians of their own so that installation can be rescheduled to an earlier date for most if not all of the customers ...

The Maxis guy said they use TM's fibre.. only modem is Maxis.
So I think performance etc will be on par with Unifi, that way benchmarking and comparisons wouldn't mean much.

I registered 4th June, the called and said my date is 11th July..
Hopefully my installation still free..
Do you think those who registered before 30th June but got their installation date after 30th June will have to pay for installation?

I think I need Public IP. I never knew that there's such thing of Public or Private IP.. I just want NORMAL IP..
I'll be administrating websites, but wouldn't be a problem since I use web hosting..
But I'll be making my own minecraft servers, etc
so I hope I can get public IP since u guys mentioned private ips are different and that public ips are the normal ones..
Can I request a public ip during installation? like ask the technician?
or must i call maxis customer service to register me a public ip or something??
just want the normal IP!!xD

Bros anyone know when do you think Maxis will implement their 100GB quota? Before when Unifi was still quite new their "unlimited quota until further notice" lasted for how long?
can estimate when maxis will implement the quota?
or does it depend on most of their customer's usage?

and also if lets say we use all our quota, the speed will throttle till what speed? smile.gif

How many power sockets do I have to prepare?
