You should put your iPhone into DFU mode. Not recovery mode.

DFU mode:
10secs holding both power + home
10secs release power button, continue holding home button.

Total : 20secs

After that you will see your lcd screen blank ( in black).

And repeat the restoration process.

that's called recovery mode.. No need care about that, just hold both home and power button as i suggested earlier.. you should restore your iphone when the screen went black..

Have you update iTunes to the latest version one?

If yes, then try to put your iPhone into DFU mode.

And restore.

1) make sure you settings is correct man. Follow respective carrier setting for specific carrier.

2) 3.1.3 dont have function to create folder. If you wan the utility then upgrade your phone into 4.0 or above.

It means your set is a locked set. You will need to re - unlock it. You will also need an universal sim to activate the phone first before performing unlock. As far as i concern, there is no solution yet for 4.02. UNLESS you had saved shsh via cydia in the past.

Restore only if you are sure that your phone is official unlock ones. If you updated to latest OS and its a locked set, then its too late. No solution for unlock atm.

This is very wrong man. Dont ever press that button. Not all users can loop it successfully. Most of them will stucked @ apple logo after pressing that. An ideal way is just to restore via iTunes. Provided its an unlocked set.

When was the last you sync to iTunes? If just recent should be no problem, usually iTunes will perform automatic backup whenever you plug into iTunes.

As far as i know, there aint other way to retieve your data because you had enter recovery mode.

What you can do now is just to restore, and select "restore from backup" later.

You can change keyboard directly on the keyboard by pressing "globe icon" on the bottom row.

First, you have to enable those language for input in Settings. Then pressing the globe button on the keyboard would toggle between those languages.

When was the wifi problem started? "Have you try to reset network settings"? I personally dont think 4.1 can save your problem. I would say it is more to hardware faulty.

If call/sms you can last for Max 4 hours then is abnormal. Normally can last for at least 8 hours or more provided no hardcore games.

If your 3gs is still under warranty, send it back and hopefully you are able to claim warranty. If no then you have find repairman to do it for you.

Dont think there is any other way.

Clearly yours is a locked set. You will need to find unlock tools via online and learn how to unlock it back.

Try this solution by our fellow pheng you.

it means that you will need to restore.
Put your phone into DFU mode and click restore and you are done. I had answered the same question over and over again. Next time flip back to previous pages first before repeating again man.

You have no choice man but to restore @ 4.1.
Remember to update your iTunes to the latest version before you restore.

No solution for unlock yet. Just stay where you are and wait for new tool for 4.1 to come out.

I dont think is supported thou, it is for OS3. Never try on os4 before. Maybe you give a try?
