Problem Encountered : cannot detect carrier in non 3g area (only for this sim)
Steps Taken So Far :upgrade to 4.1 , downgrade to 3.1.3, reset network settings , reset phone and setup as new phone, update carrier /not update carrier

Appreciate if anybody can help me with this problem.
A friend just got himself a 3g iphone, in KL everything is fine it able to detect digi 3g as carrier.
The problem came about when he went back home to seremban. It cannot detect carrier.
He's using postpaid and not principal line.The funny part was that when we swap the sim to his principal line, everything is fine. Carrier able to detect and phone able to make calls.
We went to digi service center and they claimed that the phone was locked to maxis.

is there anything we need to activate to use iphone 3g? like edge /gprs?
