I wonder if anyone had experienced my iPhone 4 problem:
The second day i purchased my ip4, i went to The Garden's Club lounge with my friend and online there (WiFi) for half day without problem. Few days back, I went there again but the WiFi was unable to connect. My friend's N8, his laptop, my laptop all can connect without a problem, only my ip4 having issue. Once I start the connection, it immediately failed and stated "Unable to connect to xxxxx", don't even see its trying to connect. Even resetting the network in ip4 didn't help. I surfed the net for this issue, and finds that WiFi on ip4 is not compatible with a numbers of brand of router/modem. Wonder what problem is this.

After leaving the lounge, i tried to online at starbucks, mcd, all without problem.

how do we identify that the iphone 4 is official unlock rather than software unlock other than using different carrier sim card?

well most of the info is applicable for ip4
if purchase from local telco (maxis, digi), it's official unlocked
if purchase from online apple store, it's official unlocked
if the ip4 came from US (AT&T set), it's official locked...
And check whether the "Carrier" item exists in the setting... If not, it's software unlocked...
something like this...

Hi....I have a noob question here....

Warranty Iphone 3gs from Starhub Singapore is local warranty/ global warranty?

Every iphone warranty is local and tied to the carrier only rite?

Can the starhub iphone claim warranty in Malaysia?  hmm.gif

Can't right? just need some confirmation and prove..... rclxub.gif

Yes, you can't. iPhone warranty can only claim from the country you purchase it.

I think my iPhone may have defects.

Sometimes I'm unable to make calls. When I try to make one, I simply hear 3 quick beeps and the phone says "call failed" and "call ended". The call quality itself is pretty poor, speech is still comprehensible and loud but sounds unclear and muffled, with an echo-like effect. My signal bars quite often drop to 2 or 3, sometimes even 1 (I'm on Digi). 3G speed is usually 0.3 to 0.5mbps.

Do you think there's something wrong with my unit?
*
not sure about the call failed and call ended problem.
for the signal, do you actually hold the ip4 "incorrectly"? do you touch the death grip?
and if i'm not mistaken digi 3g speed is on average of 700kbps where 0.3~0.5 should be normal? correct me if i'm wrong... notworthy.gif

By death grip do you mean covering the two gaps on the lower part of the metal band? No I dont do that, and I have a SGP silicon case so it shouldn't be a problem right?
*
yup is the left-handed gap. for my ip no problem wor, although when i hold the grip the signal will lose, but it dont really affect me much...
if you have a case then i think it shouldn't be the source of problem. maybe your area digi coverage not good? because for certain areas digi coverage is bad.

Been facing a problem for few times, suspect is a bug in iOS 4.1?

After voice call ended, sometimes the screen just goes totally black, left with only the top status bar (carrier, time, battery, etc), as attached picture. Pressing Home button will bring out the querty keyboard but typing doesn't have any effect. Solution to get it back to normal is to press the power button, lock the phone then unlock it.

Anyone also having this issue?
BTW I'm using iPhone 4 32GB loaded with iOS 4.1. Jailbroken. But I don't think is JB causing problem, because before JB also having this issue.

Why you say JB phone dont have this problem ? please read back that most of 40% of JB phone are having a serious time on their phone.
Btw, my piece of advise, try to hard reset your phone 1st.If cant, reflash your phone using the same iOS 4.1.
I dont think its a bug for iOS 4.1.
Since your qwerty keyboard are not sensitive ,i suspect there might a crash firmware loaded on it.
Dude, you don't understand me? I was not saying it must not caused by JB, what I was saying was it might not be JB causing the problem, because before i JB it, such problem also exists. I even had reset the firmware before, but this problem also exists in random. And I believe I'm not the only one faced this problem before.

No you cant.iTunes automatically detected your location (Malaysia) and only purchase available from Malaysia Store.
Its not rattle my dear. The phone vibrates.
Please check the setting->sounds ..scroll till bottom.check the setting over there.try to on and off.and then reboot your phone.
Feel free to visit any Maxis or Digi store to get your new micro sim card. They will provide it as new.No need to cut and do the messy job, although easy.
for less hassle la.or you always buy a sim cutter from our very own garage sales.

From what I know, itune detect your location based on the itune Acc you login...
