any of you didn't tear off the original plastic protector yet? can please check whether it affect the rear and front camera quality? because a friend of mine say the quality of photo is better with a plastic layer( the ori plastic) covering the camera. i dont know whether is true one or not( she is outstation, so i cant compare)..... so if any of you didn't tear off yet, can please see and tell me the result? thanks in advance for everything..
*
No, it's not. Please take out the plastic for better image capturing.

I just realize when I was playing with the settings last night, that iOS4.1 users have the option not to save the normal photo when enabling HDR. This is great. Saves my time deleting the normal photos, as HDR ones are always better in terms of the contract and exposure.

Mac OS X Lion is scheduled to be released in Summer '11, indicating that less emphasis will be made on the next generation iPhone?

I wonder why are there so many issues on data usage. I'm a heavy user and I never exceed 500MB every month, even there's 1GB for me to use. It's pretty simple to control your data usage and at the same time, preserve battery life. Just disable both 3G and cellular data when you aren't using the Internet. Easy?

I guess something's wrong with my WiFi. My phone's always not connected to WiFi when it's on sleep mode. It only reconnects when I slide to unlock. Tried resetting the network settings but it doesn't help. I recall that the previous firmware of iPad has this bug too. Anyone experiencing this issue?

thats not a bug. the phone will be in power saving mode when its on sleep mode. it will automatically connect back to wifi once you slide to unlock.
*
It wasn't like that on the previous firmware, where the WiFi is connected even before I slide to unlock. No idea. It's not a big deal anyway, since I can just wait for a second or two for it to re-connect. But the problem is, I can't accept FaceTime calls when my WiFi is not connected on sleep mode.

iPhone4 or 3GS?if it loaded with IOS 4.1,then u r not able to unlock it.As,till now hacker still can't find the exploit on the modem baseband

Added on October 23, 2010, 5:42 pmThis is how iPhone is design to save battery. There is an app in Cydia call Prevent sleep, but u need to JB your phone
*
As I mentioned, this wasn't an issue on the previous firmware. So I assume that Apple changed it to save battery or something. However, WiFi doesn't really consume much battery compared to 3G, bluetooth and location services. Simply don't understand why would Apple wanna do this.

Don't you have a cable when you bought your iPhone? You can get the wall charger from those who are selling iPhone accessories in Lowyat forum.

Updated to iOS4.2. Apple added 17 new text message ringtones which have significantly longer duration than the old ones. Also, user can now adjust the volume using the slider if you continue swiping left from the portrait-orientation screen when you bring up the multitasking bar.

Here you go, for those who are not aware of the minor features of the upcoming iOS4.2 which is scheduled to be released next week. With iOS4.2, you can now swipe to the right to get to this volume slider and airplay.

Now you can set to make the hardware volume buttons effective or not. And finally, 17 more text message ringtones are given to the users, which sound better but longer, so its kinda irritating if you continue receiving text messages.

I have yet to experience issues on iOS4.2. If you can't wait, you're free to download your firmware from the link below.

Note that you should SHIFT UPDATE on Windows or OPTION UPDATE on Mac instead of restoring it. Enjoy!

The battery lasts pretty good, similar like iOS 4.1.

On iOS 4.2, you can now choose to set Chalkboard, Helvetica or Marker Felt as your font.

I realize that its not practical to watch a 2 hour movie on the iPhone, as I would rather watch it on my laptop or LCD screen. Placing a large number of music videos are much more meaningful. Anyone knows where to download high quality music videos for free?

I have this app called "Downloads" which enables me to download most of the videos from YouTube. However, the quality isn't 360p or 720p which I chose to download. It is always less than VGA (640*480) resolution.

Some stated that the iPhone 4's speaker volume is lower compared to the 3GS, but mine's significantly louder.

hi makaveli, should i send it for warranty claim? Did anyone here send it for warranty claim due to speaker issue?

thanks

Some mentioned that its normal for the iPhone 4's speaker to be less louder compare to the 3GS, and I don't think you can claim warranty on that.

Anyone who uses Skype Credit to make calls to friends' landline or mobile phone? Is there any way to purchase the Skype Credit without using credit card? I heard that MOL points can be used but I'm not sure about it.
