i noticed the same thing on mine. umm, maybe its the vibrating thingy?? since everything else is so sturdy, and only the vibrator (sounds so wrong) is the only movable part, should be it i guess

Turn off cellular data la then.

change the date in Settings > General > International > Region Format then choose UK/US

i tried these steps on a windows and it worked. im pretty sure u can repeat these steps on a mac.

the speaker on my iPhone 4 is terribly low for ringtones. even the stock ringtones are quite low. i gave up my custom ringtone and chose 'cricket' as my ringtone as it's loud and high pitched

i have some paid apps in my iphone. im planning to buy an ipod touch soon. does anyone know whether i can install those paid apps on the 2nd device? or do i have to pay again?

Is this a NEW plan? If it is, then i think your mms isnt activated yet. To do so u must send an mms to your own number first. After that one is successful, then u may send out to other numbers. Give it a try.

But, if this is not a new plan, ie. u have been using the number before already and mms worked when u were using other phone, then i'm not sure

aaa... thought so.
very simple.. create a new message, attach an image, and send it to yourself! that's all!
after u receive ur own mms, then u can start sending mms to other numbers.

When u double tap the home button, u will see the 'multitasking' menu, ie. ur recently used app/background running apps..
The apps that appears are apps that u have opened.. if u dont completely close (i think the right term is kill, correct me if im wrong) those apps, they will still appear in the multitasking bar.

Newer apps that are made for iOS 4 supports multitasking.. meaning, if ur playing, lets say, Angry Birds, then in the midst of playing u press the home button and browse Safari, send an SMS, answer a call.. then later if u double tap the home button and click on angry birds, u will continue to where u left off. Just like Alt-Tab for windows. But then again, as mentioned, not all apps supports multitasking.

So, for apps that dont support multitasking, if u have opened it and repeat the same process above, the icon will appear in the multitasking menu/bar, but when u click on it, it wont start where u left off, but instead it will start from beginning. U can try this with older games.

Pressing the home button does not completely close/kill apps that support multitasking. it simply pushes it to background. As dvlzplayground have mentioned, to kill it, u have to double tap home, then in the multitasking bar, find the app u want to kill, long press on it until u see a red minus (-) sign appear, then click on that.

Alternatively, if u wanna kill all apps, just reboot ur phone. When u reboot, the apps will still appear in the multitasking bar, but it is not actually running. This time it will just appear as "recently used".

A bit confusing is it? U can try it urself to confirm.

if u've done the above, im sorry i cant offer any other solution. bring it over to maxis center that u bought the iphone.. get them to do it for u (cross ur finger on this)

from my experience, that happens when u are downloading multiple apps at one time.. its waiting for another application to finish downloading and install.

Added on October 8, 2010, 7:49 pmmy guess is it IS router problem.. it happens occasionally to me, especially when i use wifi in area with low signal.. for example in my college.. try connecting to a different access point, say, in ur friend's house and see if the problem persists

im pretty sure there must be something downloading & installing.. try dig into each folder.. the only other time the 'waiting' message appears is when they request for itunes password..

OR..
probably, my guess is, the internet is down/damn slow at the moment?

it happened to me once, that the app was downloading, but took forever to finish.. it never finished.. it hanged.. BUT, when i reboot the phone, the app is there, already installed.. u may try this later perhaps..

I'll try to solve ur problem based on my experience & from what i understand on how 'syncing' works on itunes.

Problem 1
Unfortunately, yes, you have to untick one by one. No other solution to that. And, since u are syncing two iphones to one computer, i suggest u uncheck 'Automatically sync new apps' so that when 'iphone 1' syncs a new app TO the laptop, 'iphone 2' wont install it when 'iphone 2' syncs.

Problem 2
Each app downloaded is only authorized to use with one account. when ur brother registers a new account, or when he is logged on to itunes/appstore with his account, he will still be able to use the app that was downloaded with your account. however problem arises when he wants to update that app whereby app store will ask for the itunes account that was used to download that app. solution? give ur password to ur brother (or log in for him), OR, ask him to re-download that app with his account.

Problem3
If the app is still in your iphone, then u can just re transfer it to ur laptop. u cant delete the app in ur laptop. if an app exists on ur iphone, but is already deleted in ur laptop, then itunes will ask whether u wanna transfer/remove it from ur device. how to recover r deleted apps? if u deleted it to ur recycle bin then u can simply restore them. if the app is still in ur phone u can re transfer them. or ur last choice is to redownload it

i hope these clears some of ur queries.
