Hello,
I understand the easiest way to fix my problem is to go into DFU mode and restore my iPhone. However, I do not have any backups and don't want to lose my data
Thanks.

QUOTE(benQue @ Sep 8 2010, 02:05 AM) Now that reminds me. My housemate is using a Mac So I should just follow the instructions at http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/09/recover...very-mode-loop/ and it should work fine right? Could you help me with this step? QUOTE 4) Now launch Showallfiles you downloaded earlier, and Navigate usr > lib and copy the file libusb-0.1.4.dylib into that folder. I don't particularly understand it. Thanks! |

Finally managed to get my phone into recovery mode. Had to press the home button for like a minute
Any other methods I can use? Any instruction on RecovBoot? Can't seem to find Thanks! Btw, I didn't do anything fancy that led to this problem. I was on a call, lost my Rogers signal, things went screwing up slow. Terminated all apps, but things were still crazy slow. And the "Touch to Return to Call" bar was still at my Springboard eventhough the call was over. I thought restarting my iPhone would help ...but guess not On a side note, my iPhone 3Gs is JB'd and unlocked since few months ago. But I wasn't doing any activities relating to that If I must do a restore, any way that I can salvage any data first? I tried TouchCopy but it can't detect my iPhone. Tried putting in recovery mode for Windows to detect something, but TouchCopy can't detect either This post has been edited by Crazy.SoT.Gila: Sep 8 2010, 11:10 AM |

QUOTE(yezhacolic @ Sep 8 2010, 12:27 PM) @ Crazy.SoT.Gila Unfortunately, I have just came back from a trip and didn't sync my photos yet When was the last you sync to iTunes? If just recent should be no problem, usually iTunes will perform automatic backup whenever you plug into iTunes. As far as i know, there aint other way to retieve your data because you had enter recovery mode. What you can do now is just to restore, and select "restore from backup" later. Guess I'll just have to loose my data This post has been edited by Crazy.SoT.Gila: Sep 8 2010, 10:00 PM |

QUOTE(DrGreenthumb @ Sep 9 2010, 09:29 PM) Heyy there, just a simple question.. I'm in Canada. Yes you can unlock the units from here. But I don't think Canada would be your cheapest option.Im getting an Iphone 3GS from Canada, I will be able to use it here by unlocking it right? and how much is the price difference? |

I am on 3GS and just upgraded to iOS 4.0.1. Was previously on JB'd 3.1.3 with Backgrounder and Kirikae. I feel that iOS4's multitasking feature to not as customizable as I was with Backgrounder, and I am definitely having a hard time getting used to the app switcher.
I have yet to JB after upgrading, as I am currently monitoring my cell reception. It seems that I tend to get complete signal drops with JB unit, and not currently. However, I would like to get your opinion on this. Do you still use Backgrounder and a third-party app switcher despite being on iOS4? If so, what app switcher do you use? I remember seeing a paid app with Expose-like interface, looks real sleek, but can't figure out why he can't just add a button at the side to go to next page, rather than limiting to just 6 apps. |
