a question for the flash users in this thread.

just got myself a nissin 622 flash gun and it is working ok.

but i want to know if i am able to turn off the d90 built in flash and just use the ir emmiter of the d90 to trigger the flash?

tq jumping_jax. i tried the 1st method but silly me pointing the camera at a coke bottle so it showed the initial burst form the pop up. thank you again for clearing this up for me.

since we are on the topic of flashes here is a question i have nagging in my head for a few weeks now.

whats the benefit of a soft box and what is the benefit of an umbrella?

which would u buy to compliment ur camera setup. a soft box or umbrella?

i'm very stumped at the moment since both camps swears the goodness of each other rigs.
