QUOTE(fortynine @ Sep 1 2010, 09:03 AM) I initially bought it for the sole purpose of note taking. Been there, done that and it did not meet my expectations. From my experience, I would say note taking on the iPad sucks. Big Time. For the note taking, is it the setback due to the screen keyboard which have to type one by one??However, the iPad is awesome for digital reference/reading purpose. I just pop in some reference documents I use for work and carry it everywhere. Been very helpful in some of my meetings and discussions. As for leisure purposes, my 4 year old loves the games Labyrinth HD and Isaac Newton's Gravity HD. CineXplayer has been very helpful as well, since I don't have to convert all of his favorite pixar/disney animations movies. It plays xvid flawlessly. On a different note, I just bought a new house and in the process of furnishing/renovating it. I now use the iPad to carry out ID discussions with my ID consultant. Instead of having to carry loads of ID magazines, I just bring my iPad which I've filled up with ID photos i like from all over the internet. It has been very helpful, indeed. Waaa.... u bought Labyrinth HD (USD 7.99) & Isaac Newton's Gravity HD (USD 10) ???? I like your idea on the ID |

QUOTE(azxel @ Sep 2 2010, 10:17 AM) When I buy it, it'd be for.. Same thought on the leisure part... Work - Presentations - Sketching - Photo / Portfolio Leisure - Ebooks - Online News - Recipe browsing - Online Chat I know I can do most of this on a netbook or notebook but a netbook screen is too small and a notebook size is a bit cumbersome. |

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Sep 4 2010, 11:56 PM) my bought my ipad for simple web surfing for work... Yes... Hate it specially to bring the bulky laptop... And worst, the lousy waiting time for the OS to loadso... quite love it... since it have a big screen... better web surfing than using my phn... xD coz carrying my 15.6" laptop isnt easy.... Added on September 5, 2010, 1:24 am QUOTE(Yukaeshi @ Sep 5 2010, 01:07 AM) Either way, I guess we can say that we all bought the iPad for a reason. There's just no one fixed reason why we got an iPad I never thought that I would use my iPad to response to lowyat forum... HeheheI'm not so sure about the backlit screen actually harming the eyes more... I still actually prefer the traditional feel of books... XD But I do read on the iPad as well. Initially thought to use my iPad to read ebook only and use my pc to online... Now my pc is left idle for a while This post has been edited by arthurlwf: Sep 5 2010, 01:25 AM |

QUOTE(Vorador @ Sep 10 2010, 05:04 AM) srsly, beside showing off, i have no idea what iPad should do. (Sorry if this comment offending) I rather buy iPhone 10 times than iPad. Have you uses iPad?It feels like when I was previously using dial up and switch to broadband... Or PC switch to Laptop Or ancient phone to mobile phone The best part is the battery duration, touch screen, fast ready to use/ turn on Added on September 10, 2010, 1:03 pm QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 10 2010, 09:39 AM) Waaa...
