R2E ppl...
do you guys ever encounter problems with the onboard LAN whenever you are on serious overclock settings??? I don't mean those tiny voltage increaments, I mean those >4.0ghz or those >1700mhz with >3400mhz uncore... this is the thing that happens...previously everything is a-ok but as soon as I load my 4.0ghz settings, LAN becomes unstable...games DC whole night on me, FTP disconnected and slightly slow internet connection...is not slow in terms of the connection, its slow to 'start' the connection...once I entered a url and hit enter, i takes a second or two (maybe up to 5) before it starts loading up... If stock, no problem.. another thing is, if I hook up fans on the 3-pin header next to the second LAN port, the port becomes unstable...symptoms as aforementioned... Does anyone ever experience such problems, even not specifically on R2E... |

Just woke up and check memtest test 8, and BAM!!!
everything is OK! 3600MHz uncore with 1800MHz ram CPU at 2700MHz (not yet set to 4GHz) Now I'm LINX'ing and will start online gaming once it passes all 200 times... If still the onboard LAN becomes crazy, I'll have to go and buy a PCI/PCIe LAN... Attached is my settings.... |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Aug 13 2011, 11:55 PM) well done antonio but I only got 2 sticks yupe u need a good combo of vdimm and VTT to pass LinX hook up another stick & let's see if it will be easy as this dual channel owh well...i think I just go back down to 1600...coz with that i only need like 1.2v QPI 200mhz more and a wooping 2.2v extra!!! now worth it |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Aug 16 2011, 08:16 AM) Gogo antonio! no larrr...actually my rig has been stock for so longg...now time for some 'workout' and 'stretching' Looks like u r addicted to LinX dy keke.. Side note on R3E is make sure that u dont disable the OCP or u gonna burn out the mobo in minutes. by the way, mine is not R3E...its R2E...the famous 'need high QPI voltage to run DDR2000@4000MHz uncore, sometimes need 1v more compared to other' motherboard and i'm on TRUE..so it won't be long till i hit the 'heat' wall or my room 'hot' wall... |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Aug 23 2011, 08:44 PM) Can x58 run with 5 sticks of RAM? Board? Same size or different??Edit: I tested and it works. However, the x58 documentation does not include 5 module operation. Just in case someone needs the idea how to put the modules: Three modules: 0-1-0-1-0-1 Four modules : 1-1-0-1-0-1 Five modules : 1-1-0-1-1-1 (NOT 1-1-1-1-0-1) In 4 or 5 module operation, x58 will still operate in triple channel mode. Unlike some claims in forums that x58 will fallback to single/dual channel. my rams probably reach today 4GB CVR x 3 probably reach today...so might poke it all to get 16GB btw, nothing to do this morning... ![]() http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1966315 |

QUOTE(hypermax @ Jan 12 2012, 01:04 PM) However, when i tried overclocking it to 4Ghz (200x20), it would crash within first 10min of prime. I have tried increasing the vCore to as high as 1.375 but without much success. The BSOD code i got is 0X050, 0X04E and some other weird 2 digits error. Pls shed some light on my situation. Thx. QUOTE(j_petrucci @ Jan 16 2012, 01:36 PM) my gt can run 2000mhz c7-9-7-24 1.65v. but decided to run 1066 only coz cant take the amount of juice the oc was taking.. like f1 i might say lol I ran once O/C vs stock consumption on my setup:-i7 920 -R2E -3 x 1600Mhz DDR3 C7 1.72v (IMC always at 1.425v) -Seasonic 850W -5970 -x6 HDD -1xSSD at 4.0ghz vs 2.66, the Arlec wattage meter I had showed just a mere <30w increase making the total around 280-300 at idle, at 2.66 idle was around 250-270 watts... but when I swapped GPU from 5970 to the 4850, my idle went as low as 170W-190W (2.66) and 200-220 (4.0ghz) so yah...no point save power on CPU...wanna save power...get a lesser GPU |
