You could read the tread there. Prime95 not really stressing i7 I think. Plus, we all here use LinX for stressing purpose. For Core 2 family, Prime95 might relevant..

first of all i want to say that im a newbie    and i want to build gaming rig..

I have purchased my equipment, below is the list :

1. Casing Mid Tower
2. 1200 Watt Power Supply Unit
3. Hydro Cooling System for Processor
4. DDR 3 12GB (3x4gb) with 2000mhz
5. SSD 120GB +120 GB+320GB = 640GB

since this is my first time building gaming rig and i never do OC in my life before...i would like to ask all experienced ppl in this forum,

what is the good combination for the processor and mobo so i can OC and will explicitly guarantee can run my memory @ 2000 MHz 

i already do research on google and it seems lot people having trouble to run the ddr3 @ 2000 MHZ lot of them have trouble with the voltage ? blue screen ? etc...

so if any of you guys can give a recommendation i would very appreciate it...

Depends on what BSOD code is, mostly occured if voltage pumped isnt enough. Give it more juice especially vcore n vtt. Only good batch can clock 2k dram 4ghz uncore with vtt 1.4v. CPU with a weak IMC would draw more vtt.

BTW, 3GB on Crysis1, confirm PC hang during gameplay.

BSOD 124 on LGA1366 is related to insufficient VTT. SB is vcore.

Air cooling can handle uptil 1.4v only. Core & uncore speeds also will affect core temps.

Ive played Crysis with 3x1GB before. Task manager shows 2.5GB used for this game. Then straight upgrade to 6GB, no more sudden crash.

Hmm I dunno really, but I think it depend on the RAM fsb applied.. Higher fsb = high gflops~
