haha..im a lkw student but i quit after my first semester..

first of all, when im in f5 last year, i did consider between The One Academy and LKW..after some personal factors, i choose LKW. another thing i choose lkw is because i love the environment..like it wont be very crowded, the whole university structure is big,etc..plus its a globalised uni..

im going to major in creative multimedia and after 1semester i quit..what i don like there is there're too many africans na foreigners..U need to ask urself, are u ready to accept this? Personally im ok with it just that its quite hard to communicate with them..Mix with them nothing wrong..But not everyone having the same mind. Some might think its ok to mix with them and communicate with them..But some might scared to see so many africans or what..When u avoid making friends with those foreigners, u will be quite lonely there..eventually ur college life wil be quite boring and lonely..Another thing i don like is the lectuer. Mayb the lecturers i had are not good enough..but NOT every lecturers are not good..some are good as well..it depends..plus in uni, u cant really rely on lecturers..need to depend on urself..but i always think that TOA is more serious in teaching..
in LKW, class starts at 9..and sometimes u can go back at 12 plus..2 or 3hours class..i don think its enough..

again, somehow i think lkw is famous of its name mayb? like its an international uni..there're around 9k students there..but almost 80% are stuyding NON-DESIGN courses like IT,business etc. The foreigners come here to study that. and whenever u come out from class, u can see lots of foreigners are smoking/walking around the campus.

and where are u staying? hostel? cyberjaya is quite a boring city..thats why i stay at my bro house @ ara damansara and everyday drive 35mins to school and back to school..and pay rm6.40 toll..

so after sem1, i decided to move to TOA..

conclusion IMHO, advantages of LKW is the uni is globalised, cheaper, nice environtment..
advantages of TOA is the teaching, many local students, and located at the city..

disadvantages of LKW - teaching not serious enough,many foreigners,boring city,
disadvantages of TOA - the college is in shoplots

Seriously, if u wan a college that REALLYYYYYYY into art/design, TOA is your choice mayb..

yeah..its their accent..so u need to ask urself this, are u ready to mix with them? mayb not ask u to mix with them or what..its just that when u enter the college,arond the campus everywhere mostly everyone are foreigners..so what wil u feel about this? some ppl don mind lo.but some ppl might think everywhere foreigners,hardly can find a friend to talk or what except ur classmates..

as for TOA is more on multimedia? i cant really can give u an answer..some ppl said yes some ppl said no..
Malaysia Insitute of Art? yeah..heard before..but don really know much.

what i mean is..for example, when u are in design course, u can see the number of africans in design course..its LESS..mayb 10% or even less than that..My friends who study communication,her class have lots of africans..

i gotta agree with u that lkw is flexible..the life there is quite relaxing compared to TOA which have soo many strict rules and u have to obey them..if not...

haha even though u r staying at the hostel, but still u cant walk from hostel to campus..its just TOO FAR!! if walk i think u need to walk at least 1 hour(provided u have the energy)..haha..but no one do it before i think..they either drive/tumpang ppl's car/squeeze bus with foreigners.

yeah..toa only has degree in GD and MM..ID only diploma..thats why keith chee said mayb TOA will launch degree for ID next time.

haha..today eric leong just gave a talk to us..serously he is a DAMN FUN PERSON! not sure how's him in class..but when he's giving a talk,he's SUPER NICE! he gave the talk for 1hour and we all laughed 1hour for non-stop..

if u r listening to what a TOA students said,it might be quite unfair..he/she might dunno whast the advantages/disadvantages of both college..

but im a student of lkw and why i quit..i sure have my own reasons right? haha..

ok well i think TOA is really a serious school..quite strict too..
today the principal of TOA, Tatsun Hoi just gave us a talk..i truly agree wat he said..we join TOA just for one reason, WE WAN TO LEARN..as simple as that.

so if u r a person who are looking for freedom,relax lifestyle, feel free to choose any colleges u wan..but not TOA..if not it gotta make a hell of ur life..however, if you are a person who wish to achive what u r aiming all this while, learn things u dunno, willing to suffer for now, TOA is the right place..so it really depends.but don even 4get, u r spending ur parents money now..choose the life u wan...=)

btw, i think ID is much more interesting under the guidance of eric leong..he's quite active and he not just teach u bla bla bla..he said he more focus on practical,thats why he organised lots of exhibitions,competitions etc which i don think lkw will do.

LOL! YES! the environment there is awesome! the campus look cool right? thats what i think also..

but like what i said last time..depends on urself actually..i dunno what kind of person are u..as for me, last time my class got around 20+ students..and there're only around 5/6 locals..and among the locals, only 1 local guy..means whole class 2 local guys..its not that i don like to mix with foreigners,but sometimes its quite hard to communicate, and u will find that the place is not belong to u..

last time i told my toa lecturers that im a lkw student previously and she said if u wanna to be in lkw, u must be very "COOL"! haha..well i don really know how she define COOL..=)

as for TOA,its shoplots but now i think its nice lo..its not that boring like lkw..u gotta trust me..lets not talk about whether the assignments will make me hate TOA next time onot..haha.

but the veryyyy first reason is when i start my studies in lkw, i totally got a thinking that "this place is not belong to me, i just come here study thats all".. but at TOA is diff..when im there, everything is just so friendly and nice..thats what i think la..

Hmm,well..tell u something..IF u wan to learn, TOA is the right place.why? even the lecturers in LKW ask us not to further our studies there..unbelivable right? its true..but i wont reveal out the lecturer's name..when i proceed the school leaving procedure, the lecturer ask me what happen..i told him im quitting..he ask me why and where im going..i said "TOA"..and he replied "good la..there's good"..

lol..he really mean GOOD la..coz last time in teaching he already said if u having foundation here nvr mind..but its better not to further degree at lkw..

get into TOA la..trust me u wont regret..as long as u don mind the TONNES OF ASSIGNMENTS can d..haha.

as for environment, things u dislike at lkw will also cover up the advantage of environment..and actually inside TOA is nice too..don mention outside la..haha

haha..thats why i say depends lo..see which is ur priority..but what i like about TOA is :
1) teaching more serious
2) inside environment (NOT OUTSIDE)
3) easy to have more friends(almost everyone local)
4) more convenient(easy to find food,buy things)
5) the environment makes me think the place is for me to study and learn..i dunno why..but in lkw, i jsut think that since i pay money d, then i learn lo..thats all.
6) some handsome/pretty lecturers..nah..just joking..=)

p/s : but i dunno whether i will start to hate toa coz of my assignments onot la..haha..at least i have experience in LKW so i know how to manage my time properly.

oh well..yeah..lots of them are below <30..thats my current lecturers la..not sure if other sem other class..example,my figure studies lecturer already been teaching in toa for 6years..and he just said to us today that he will teach us what he know..and somehow i agree that we cant depends on lecturers that much..we have to do our own research as well..but what i can comfirm between the lecturers in lkw and toa, lecturers in toa is 100000000% more serious than lkw..

as for the assignments,give u this face to explain everything " "

lets say in 1 week, u have finished art assignments, design,drawing, figure studies assignments..IF u anyhow do,they reject..good luck to u lo..REDO+the current week assignments..next week submit two..try submitting late without a valid reason,and u will know whats gonna happen..not only this, u still have those communication skill presentation/malaysian studies assignments/history of art assignments as well..

research? aiyo..example,lets say figure studies..ur lecturer teach u how to get a right proportion..but after that u also can do some research on how to get perfect one, or etc..all related to proportion..bcoz therer're still lots of things for u to learn and lecturers wont be able to teach u everything..imo la..hehe..

as for the assignments..u come n see lo..hehe..assignments/redo/presentation/research come together..=)
art assignments not only draw la..have to learn design elements as well ma..

go sunway? cannot la..no time d still go..lol..if finish assignments then go can la..hehe

i drive to lkw everyday for 40minutes..

toll rm6.40 a day..plus petrol about rm5 a day..one day rm11.40..and if u come late, no parking u have to park at the car park opposite..rm1..

now i park at sunway at most one day rm3..save rm10 a day.

depends la..i go home wont jam..but my friend go back damn jam..10minutes distance but he use 1hour to reach..

oh ya..welcome to the world of assignments..

frankly speaking..last time when i was in lkw, i was just like do my assignments then submit..thats all..but now when im in toa, i really have the motivation to learn..example,when i submit the assignments, but after that i realised i can do much better..then i ask my lecturer to return my assignments back to me for me to redo..last time in lkw i wont do that one..haha

1) the whole cyberjaya is peaceful/clean/quiet..But definitly not a place for entertainment..and hard to get food..lots of my friends are either go down to puchong/sri kembangan for food..

2) agree..the management sux..and the way they do things is slow..i still i remember last time i only get my ID after 1month plus..they ask me to go on monday, i go they said next few days..i go again they said i nvr give them photo which i already gave them..after few days,they said not ready yet..
i go there around 10times just to get my ID.

3) as for the fees, somehow i think i didnt get for what i've been paying..
