attention OCZ VX users.. ( OCZ VX Gold / VX Value )

some guide to burn in your RAM !!

make sure u've got active cooling on it !!

8cm fan is enough IMHO..

also applies to Winbond CH5 UTT / BH5 UTT based RAM IMHO.. wink.gif

******************************************************

quoted from RyderOCZ

Hello,

The PC3200 should set 200FSB 2-2-2-10 timings (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) with 3.2V and let it run memtest for 24-48 hours if you can let it go that long

The PC4000 should be set at 250FSB 2-2-2-10 with 3.3V for the same period

Hope that helps

Oh ya dinster , maybe you should list out the CPU clock speed as it affects the memory score in sandra2005 for AMD64. smile.gif
*
hurm.... thanks for the idea.... will edit the template...... wink.gif

btw winc87, u forgot to post CPU-Z memory screenshot.. as u can see Sandra detected ur timing as 2-2-2-2

that's not correct right ? wink.gif

Nope, if i wanna do a 2.5-3-3-6 I need 2.9V. My principles is not exceding 2.8V, i don't want to heat up my mosfet.  thumbup.gif

do u know how?plz teach

will the tempreture of the rams increase?

of course.. temp is proportional to voltage applied..

same principle in CPU overclocking.. wink.gif

hurm..... looks like u've to pay somebody else to solder it for u... tongue.gif

The newer batch of OCZ PLAT. rev2 sux! No matter how hard I try i cannot get it to match my older batch which runs 320HTT @ 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.8V
*
that's bcoz the new batch is carrying Samsung TCC5..

goodbye TCCD user posted image user posted image

for those who's using TCCD now, u're just damn lucky.. smile.gif

taken from XS forum..

statement from OCZ representative..

The TCC5 and TCCD are on the exact same die. We have openly discussed announced here on XS and elsewhere that we may use TCC5. We also do not gurantee what chips we use AND I have seen NO complaints over the way any of the TCCX chips are overclocking. We still bin all the chips to the same specs.

As far as the heatspreaders there is no meaning to them at all. The first TCCD always came in the embossed ones and older TCCD also came with the raised logo spreaders. I have both here, produced at the same time.

NOW, different weeks chips have different properties, just like CPU's. Some of the early TCCD liked more volts. The best of the new TCCD chips do just fine for clocking and do it with less volts SOMETIMES. Again, they don't make all chips in one day, they spread production out over months. TCCD and TCC5 are all getting a bit scarce as the push is on big time for DDR2 now, since AMD is going with that next year. We use what is available to keep you guys suppplied.

Another point is that the PC3200 EL Platinum must run 2-2-2 timings at 200. Not all the TCCD or TCC5 will do this. Again, we have to have chips for the memory that will do spec, or we can't make any.

If your memory does not meet spec, we will glady replace it.

I see a comment about prices. Yes prices are good. If you want a guranteed 600mhz DDR, spend a bit more and get the PC4800, that's why we make it.

As far as RMA's I have no idea. No one has complained an no complaints have been heard. You can always email support through out website.

Thanks

erm... just want to give opinion

isn't that it's kinda unfair S-754 Athlon64 to be compared to S-939 Athlon64, coz the differences in performance of single channel and dual channel Athlon64 is quite obvious

i think the category for amd should be divided to
Socket A (Athlon/Athlon XP/Duron/Sempron)
Socket 754 (Athlon64/Sempron)
Socket 939/940 (Athlon64/Athlon64 FX)
*
nice idea.. thumbup.gif notworthy.gif
