Both Padini and G2000 are having a promotion of 2 shirts for RM129 right now. Quality wise, you should get the G2000 as their strings are not flimsy like the one you find from Padini's.

G2000's available colours are all plain, with an array 4 types from each tone of purple, blue, pink and grey. Padini however, have different types of colours and design.

All good for skinny body (unless you're super skinny, try the 14 1/2 size from G2000).

Well you can always opt for Topman's plain shirt with contrast buttons at RM119 each currently.

For trousers, get the 1 from G2000. Padini's trousers, although being slim-fit, it still looks fat due to the soft fabric they use and they have very very deep pockets. Well, it will be good if you're super tall or you have long arms sweat.gif

I bought quite a alot of Brooks Brothers rejected shirts from a local shop. At first i didn't realise because they cut the label at the collar. Then I recognised their label method of washing. 2 shirts for RM63. Beside that they have some good quality shirts, scout around and you will notice.

It's FOS, go to their biggest store (actually where is it?). Sizes, colours and pattern maybe limited.

These are not shirts for men. These are factory-made shirts with garish branding in cheapo China fabric for unwashed provincial lala plebian phillistine cubicle dwellers who still live with their parents.

Cotton On selling cheap distressed shirt, somewhat looks like chambray, for RM50. Something like this

Esprit/EDC selling shirt for RM99.90 when on sales, Zara selling for RM139.90, Topman and so on. You just have to look around.

Hmm. I wouldn't mind if only the material and the fit is better than ones I can get locally (eg. Seed, Padini, Raoul, Zara).

On sale, they cost roughly the same as those. On sale, they go for about 25-30 quid.

Trywhitt is not very good. And very billowy.

I recommend T.M. Lewin, which also has online sales. Some lines are very slim and come with non-fused collars.

I've browsed through a couple, and yes, most of their shirts indicate that they come with non-fused collars and darted backs.

Do you suppose they are all 2 ply cotton, or I'll have to look for ones that specifically state that?

Also, what do you think of Thomas Pink shirts? They look good as well.

yeah true..15 pounds shipping for shipment worth 150 pounds and below. at 20 to 25 pounds a shirt, you could get 6 shirts, which will make shipping for each shirt less than 3 pounds. on shirt for 28 pounds including vat. quite a good deal. iirc, even padini's cheapest shirts are about 120rm.. doh.gif

Hi there. I'm about to start work on Monday but the problem is, I do not know where (and how) to buy office wear for a skinny guy like me. I'm 170cm tall, weigh 45kg and my waist is 26inches. Can you guys recommend any outlets that sell dress shirts and pants at a reasonable price? Thank you very much. smile.gif

Tocco Toscano shirts have the best fit for off the rack. price wise is quite OK I guess, raging from RM199 to RM299. Sometimes, can get one shirt at RM89 if you're lucky.

If you're planning to go for custom made, Tux and Blazer offers a French Cuff oxford for RM220, while Custom Made by Andy at the Weld, is offering Egyptian cotton shirt for RM300 and washable wool pants for Rm350.

In Malaysia, the only place I know that sells Tocco Toscano Shirts is Tangs Pavilion. You walk in the lower floor entrance and go to the right wing. from there you'll see one corner with lots of shirts that looks very exclusive. Thats Tocco Toscano.

believe me, the shirts are awesome!

The problem with the shirt is that the run of the stripes is not regular.
user posted image
The white stripe is much narrower than it should be.

With BE Red the width of the visible stripes is homogenous even when there is discontinuity in the cloth.

I don't know how highly you guys rate Brook Brothers,
but I'm going out on a limb to say that they're very good, esp the non-iron range, if you hate ironing.

I like the button at the collars, which is rarely made now by other brands.

Protip: Try it on your local brooks brothers store, and order it online from Brookbrothers.com, when its on sale.

Hahah, maybe I've not seen enough brands, BB is good enough for me (if you get
it on sale direct from the US).

Their price is ridiculously marked up in Singapore (and probably Malaysia)

i've had it with TM Lewins because they're a b**** to iron.

Any ways to determine the authenticity of Brooks Brother shirts?
Tried those slim fit & non-iron ones, seems quite fitting.
However, even after discount it cost about 400 plus each.

What type of fitting is it for shirts that are larger on the shoulder area/broad chest but narrows down to the waist ?

Apart from going to a tailor where can I expect to find this sort of fitting in Malaysia, ready-made.

Very hard to find. Your closest bet are stores that sell "korean-inspired" shirts. They normally have bigger drop (width gradient from armpit to waist). However, most are unsuitable for work be it design-wise or quality-wise. You can try The Shirts Studio.

Altering shirts from regular stores like G2k or Bonia is still the better way.

I do not see how your reply relates to dress shirts, jayro_88. Moreover, you have been posting quite a number of nonconstructive posts in this section lately.

You might argue that the post above is an honest mistake (that you thought this is a t-shirts thread) but considering the quality of your posts in this section, it appears to me that you prefer to post random messages after taking a quick glance at the topics' titles without even skimming through the threads contents, just for the sake of posting instead of positively contributing to our online community.

I need you to tone it down.

hey fusioneX, what are your views on dress shirts.
should i go to a tailor to get a fitted one or simply just purchase one?

I have never altered anything before apart from altering the length of slacks.

I will probably get one of my shirts and have it altered to see the effect.

for shirts, i got seed, topman, and G2000, but i dont really like the collar bcs it too big for me since i wearing S size ( seem like the collar for XL and S are in same size =='')

for pants i will go for topman only bcs other the cutting i dont like, is not slim enough.

one thing, i had no idea on how to wear skinny slack pants nicely, any idea?

I preferred PADINI's shirt as they are the most reasonable price.

Can anyone recommend me something like PADINI? The fitting, the quality, the price and cutting.

So far, I got most of PADINI's RM128 for 2 shirt. I preferred plain color.

Stopped wearing G2000, Padini, Seed, etc. Looks nice the first two times you wear then after a few wash fades and don't hold it's structure.

Mainly wear Zara and Raul these days but they dont seem to have any nice white French cuffs shirt.

Any other recommendations?

i must confess however to having 2 g2000 black label shirts purchased in hong kong.

Finally found my shirt. Got it from Cuffz@BV2.

Nice structure with amazing details.
The underside of the cuffs is lavender colored. So you can wear it longer to show a colored stripe or normal to be all white. A very nice touch that allows you to be formal and casual with a simple adjustment of the cufflinks.

Also the underside of the button overlap is thin lavender stripes. So when you have a few buttons unbuttoned, you can see a slight colour. Nice details.

Worth buying.

I just bought Pazze Menswear at my place (tree people state as /k/ say). Their S is slim cut and really fitting (make me look really professional and tough haha). Suits me because I'm so kurus one. Bought at a department store Servay, sort of like Jusco or Giant la.

Bentop also got slim cut but a little expensive la. RM 36 compare to Pazze RM 29. But of course sale la. I bought 3 hehe.

Pazze should be China brand. I have seen their stuff in UO and The Store before. But if you want cheap stuff that is a little better than China brand ones and cheaper than branded ones, try SUAVE from JUSCO.

I know you didn't come here for this. But you know you can do with more mass esp. when uniqlo or g2000 doesn't have your size.

Ops sorry. Maybe ask the SA to call other g2000 branches near you to check size availability.

Are you attending 1 or is it your wedding? If it is congratulations!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I would suggest you to get your shirt tailor made!

My current tailor is Ah Loke Tailor just along Jalan Yap Ah Shak

If you do not know anything about clothe maybe you could read it about here

http://propercloth.com/reference/dress-shirt-fabrics/

Get a thread count which suits your budget! Always get a clothe that is two ply!

Cheers and good luck to you!

If you have to ask, just get one off the rack shirt. Have to disagree with Calvin here as shirt philistines will know little about thread count and such, where's kotmj btw?

Ok, that's about what I paid too - did mine in Excelsior. For a minute, I thought I might have been ripped off.
