QUOTE(Wan @ Sep 2 2010, 07:45 AM)
Scholes is on another level himself, and not many are and close to joining him on the same step.

Hargreaves ain't a Keano successor. Hard tackler, dominating persona is just part of it. Passing ability is more important. Don't have to be great like Scholes, but have to at least be useful or comfortable enough there. Hargreaves haven't showed enough there to suggest we can rely on him there aside from providing defensive cover and and an endless amount of hard work in that position. He looked really good out wide though..

---------

Rio played 45 mins for the reserve. Ando played the full 90mins. Score was 2-1 in our favour. Macheda got the winner.
*
Macheda keep banging in the goals in reserve, I just wonder if SAF willing to start him more often in the league fixture and maybe then, Macheda could stamp his presence in the starting lineup. With Chicharito and Owen, he currently the fifth choice striker in the order and that is quite sad for a player his class.

we miss Van der Vaart
cheap and superb player ...

and knee made from glass injury prone player. We had one in the form of OH, didn't need another one.

With so many attacking options in our team, I doubt SAF going to sign any established players and expensive one. Youth maybe, but not those senior player that need games under their belt or they start whining.

And whats up with Carrick, didn't play also kena hamtam?? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Anyone knows bout this guy? We were linked to him every year yet we haven't made a single move. If he's that good, why other teams aren't interested? hmm.gif
*
if im not wrong he is a DM although his name seems to be quite familiar to me as an older french player, this guy is a belgian.
FM rates him quite highly too tongue.gif so that is an indication that he may be something smile.gif

liverpool also wanted to get him during the transfer window

lol, you all keep thinking 1 way only which is why fergie not signing VDV, i doubt he will come man united because with the talent united has in wingers or centre midfield ...
he will think he might not secure 1st team chances, compare spurs which the midfielder only has modric which currently injured, huddlestone, palacios and o'hara ...

perhaps there's a gap between bpl & reserve league maybe? he's still younger so need not to rush him... he could feature once a while in league, will definitely come in handy in league cup/fa cup matches. smile.gif

If he keep impressing in the reserves and whenever he gets a chance for the first team, SAF will keep on giving chances to him. But for now, 10-15 games is what we're looking at unless he impresses enough to get more. He's only 19, and his game still not fully develop, but he's working on those link up stuff and he's been quite good at them. He's probably 2-3 years away from regularly contesting for a place. No need to rush. By that time, a path or two would open up with Berba and Owen getting on in age.

Hehe middle names... some of them quite interesting..

"Alexander" comes to mind

The 25 is a fair list to be honest. I went through it and don't reckon I would leave any of them out. and the Harg made the cut! whoop whoop

Agree. He still young and he still developing his game. SAF did played him for few games last season and I can see that he still not in the level where he could consistently perform and handling matches. It just bugging me that I keep forgetting that he is still young and he already giving impact to the team. I hope Macheda himself notice that he need to give more time to himself and the manager to start picking him for regular fixture, I don't want such a talent to leave us.

Hernandez Balcazar, Javier
De Laet, Ritchie Ria Alfons
Almedia Da Cunha, Luis Carlos

Javier middle name is cool and just imagine Nani using his real name on his shirt. Commentator nightmare laugh.gif

Balcazar is the most interesting name to me.

The most awesome name has got to be Magnus Wolff Eikrem. How awesome is that? laugh.gif

And those Portuguese and Ecuadorian names are quite a mouthful ... sweat.gif

QUOTE(alien2003 @ Sep 2 2010, 11:48 AM)
i think we are the most balanced squad in the league, we fulfill the quota and huge numbers of potential star will classify as homegrown in a year or two.

but Chelsea seem the strongest. They only use 19 of 25 spots available, but those 19 (mostly) are well experienced.

Arsenal use 20/25, but they are well known for operating with a lot of youngsters. this rule will not weaken them.

i think Liverpool will be relatively weaken by this rule. Roy Hodgson bought /allegedly interested with average English player, due to strict budget and want to fulfill homegrown quota..

Man City can still buy reinforcement, but still need to sell their star player in bargain price (like Robinho). shame we are arch rival, if not we can gain a lot from business with them..

Spurs are quite good condition, they love to buy English players in recent years..

i think, im starting to like this kind of rule.. rclxms.gif

Hargreaves was raised in Canada and trained in Germany.

Homegrown only applies to players who joined the club before 18 years old and trained there for more than 3 years within the country. Or something like that.
