Hi,

I've been planning to do this trip for a while but none of my friends have the time off work so I'm looking for someone to travel with. If it's possible to make this journey, I'm planning to travel anytime between january-march next year and would like to spend several weeks. Still working on itinerary but here is the route:

KL - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Chiang Kong - Huay Xai - Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - Vientiane - Hanoi - Hue - Hoi An - HCM - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - KL

I know it's easy to meet up with people on the way but it would be good to have a travel companion in advance. Having a friend to go with would be better and definately cut down on the costs. My plans are pretty flexible so if u r interested, pls let me know. I'm easy to get along with, reliable and very strong too..hehe..cheers!

Now I'm thinking to change the title to Travel Companion for I haven't seen any similar thread. If u r looking for a travelmate, post as much information as u're comfortable doing. I'd suggest to those who r seeking travel companion to inform the forumers ur travel plan much earlier. Where and when. Giving early notice will increase possibility of the plan to work out, instead of alerting the thread with a short notice. Good luck!

Lot of places to go. To go straight to the places for more than a week might be hard. Why don't you plan for shorter trip first?

Would love to try out a solo backpacking travel next year.

Anyone with loads of backpacking experience can share which destination would suit a beginner? Googled abit, most of the people talked about Thailand.

estimate ballpark about 20-30k considering our sh*tty currency  rolleyes.gif bulk of the budget is on the transportation especially europe and also in mongolia (tour starts at USD99 per day, cheaper if more ppl). if not including europe, roughly 10k should be possible

Hi there, interested here. Have you worked out an itinerary? I'm thinking of taking 6-7 months off next year, and looking forward to extend my trip with Silk Road & central-south America, not sure will m50-60k be enough or not
