QUOTE(john born @ Sep 25 2010, 02:53 AM) No..of course they don'tThey have more than enough money to get real ones.. What I mean is that we need a famous artist to promote that fake guitars are bad..otherwise it is not going to be heard After that all the Hujan fanboys don't want to buy fakes |

Most small time music shops, they themselves dont even know it's fake. the salesman the cashier. And those who knows, they won't even wanna tell you its fake. they can stare you in the eye and say this is ORIGINAL fender. Oh come on !!!........pfffft. Pathetic. |

But any guitarist worth his salt should be able to tell by pricing and observation of the instrument whether its ori or fake.
IMHO, really, there are 2 markets here: Original market, and Fake market. The ppl in the original market know their musical tools, know what they want, and are willing to pay for it. Fake market is filled with ppl (kids, I'd like to think) who just want to be seen wielding something outrageously expensive that is obviously and ridiculously beyond their means - oft times painfully so. Its not like a pirated DVD, where u get roughly similar experience watching ori "Avatar" vs fake "Avatar" DVD. A fake instrument will always be a fake instrument, and its inferiority will always remain. Personally I don't see the issue. I don't think the instrument market will detriment considerably for it. The reason I'm so disenchanted with this whole thing is that enforcement of IP in MY isn't all that good - u can get away with a lot of things. And indoctrination - in this case telling/showing/asking ppl not to buy fake guitars - doesn't work. Especially in MY. Ask me how I know. Its a pain, but u can live with. |

honestly, i'd rather have a noob guitarist showing off his brand new fake fender than a real one. it hurts me to see such an incompetent player playing such a well built guitar...
still, seasoned players occasionally can't tell the difference between a fake and an original. for me, i can't tell the difference between a fake and real fender, maybe i could feel and hear the difference. |

basicly, a noob guitarist playing a REAL fender is either rich or stupid for being conned.
