The self-proclaimed smartphone which will save Nokia, the N8, will be available from Vodafone in a dazzling shade of green as an exclusive.
This new Symbian^3-powered smartphone won't be available anywhere else save for Vodafone in the UK, and is available for purchase later this year.
You will need to sign up for Nokia N8 updates at the Vodafone website if you want to know when this state-of-the-art device will hit the market, giving you enough time to prepare and save without incurring the wrath of the missus with a big purchase later on.
It doesn't mean it'll feels the same. Will only find out when it's release
Seen the videos, still looks like C6 or N97 only with multi-touch. If i were going to spend alot of money on that, I expect something new or different. Throw in the Maemo OS.
Until today I still laughing at my cousin who bought a 8800 Scirocco which has the same function as my cheap X3.

Nokia is not doing well on their Symbian. After all this years, it still looks the same, feels the same and just aren't good enough to go against the giant today which are Android and iOS.
Plus, the phone itself looks ugly.
Maemo looks nice but I don't see them using it as phone OS though.

nope. If Nokia implement android, means Nokia is no different from SE, HTC etc...
Nokia will die if they implement Android.
They won't. Many Nokia fanss switched to Android because of their insistence to use a dying platform. Maemo is half ass-ed. Android is well supported and with Nokia's hardware, they will win. Imagine N8 running on Android. Superb camera, great OS. If people are considering getting N8 even with Symbian, there will definitely sell more with Android on it.

I agree also. But I was told otherwise by an article that I read while I catch a plane. It said that there's no differentiation between Nokia and others. N8 hardware also worse than Galaxy S.

Wonder no longer. The Chinese has made Nokia N8 clone running on Android 2.1!
wad a loser... even sony and motorola are using them
i think nokia is trying to fight against market. Or may be their aims to do create another strong market like mac which insist promoting its own platform. anyway it's my point of view.
it's a camera phone not smart phone. Nokia's future lies in Maemo open source software not symbian as long as it's still as cluttered as the current one. in the nutshell, u can't claim n8 will save nokia.
Yeeeaaahhh... iPhone has No Video Call, No Xenon Flash, No FM Transmitter & Smaller Pixel, higher price than N8.
Indeed u will like ur iPhone more.
I rike Iphone just because its interface and FREE over 200000 apps on the App Store. Those camera, Xenon Flash are useless for me since I have a digital camera on my hand.
wao. the N8 price is too expensive! It could be a flagship device, but it's not even competitively priced! I hope the price goes down when it comes to Malaysia. There's no way I'm making a switch to N8 with that price.

most apps on the apple store suck, anyway.(ESPECIALLY the free ones) i cant remember the last app i truly enjoyed using,or found remotely useful

Price go down when reach Malaysia?
Nokia phone price ALWAYS GOES UP when reach Malaysia.
Wait for a few weeks the price will drop to half like most of their phone does.

Meh you buy N8 because of the spec only? Like you buy high end gaming pc but running Linux only. Content is king not the hardware.
Yes. I don't carry begs and don't hv many pockets to fit in everything.

apple will soon force ppl to create apps that cannot run on iphone 3gs, force you to buy iphone 4, then they come out with iphone 4gs/5/or something else name, and do the same shit force you to buy their new phone model every year.... yeah, thats ethical...

Nokia won't even be able to make people create apps for Symbian.

that shows that I am not a Nokia Fanboy, even though I own a nokia phone, and nokia sucks, I will not say nokia good
and nokia has been focusing on symbian all these years, thats why i've moved to maemo for the time being and the next upgrade might be meego or android but definitely not symbian because nokia literally is killed by symbian
nokia is losing the high end market share no matter what it tries. the apple brand is not just tech product but its more of a lifestyle thing. should just focus on mid-range phones.
U my fwen, need to make more research b4 u say that (u can start with Qt)
I don't know man. Most popular app has a version for both iPhone and Android, sometimes BB, but rarely Symbian. It's really frustrating. Not that there is not Symbian users, but the developers couldn't care less even with us requesting a version for Symbian. Foursquare for example, takes forever before a usable app pops up. That even is by 3rd party developer, not by Foursquare itself.

nokia no future thought lame oviii useless symbion
i don't think it will be the same to n8. n97 is a trash, same to 5800 which produced while financial crisis, 2009. nokia saves a lot of cost by producing these two product. for my point of view, n97 is wasted. for n8, i have no idea. let's take n95 for example as both n95 and n8 have profession in cameras. if you're notice, for those nokia product which have profession can last on market for at least 2 years without any major changes in price. Unlike SE, more than 70% of its phone the price drop by 30-45% when it comes to second year.
however if nokia n8 launch its price at 2000+, i doubt it will last within 6 month. it's still symbian after all. even an excellent performance of 12mp with largest sensor camera (1/1.8") don't deserve to raise it's price until that high. you can get camera with 10mp with 1/1.7" lens around rm500 anywhere. n8 with headset (rm2800+) or N8 itself (rm2550+) is way too high. i would get a good HTC Sphone with android os with that price.
