Hi guys, got a problem here.
I'm trying to swap the hd of my new ps3 slim with the 500g hd from my old ps3 fat. I've downloaded the Japan 3.56 update this morning into PS3/UPDATE on my thumbrive and when I restarted the ps3 after the hd swap it says DATA IS CORRUPTED after I pressed Enter+Start. I just redowloaded the Asian 3.56 and the ps3 is now saying "Update data not found, pls download version 3.56...bla bla" after I pressed Enter+Start.
ANy ideas? thanks

QUOTE(kyaz87 @ Feb 5 2011, 06:38 PM) i think ur problem is in a same case with maxwongsauwei Not quite as bad I think, I still have the old unformatted hd. From maxwong's post, I deduced that you have to pop in the old hd back and do a manual 3.56V2 system update and then do a normal hd swap. maxwong, you there?! Edit: Just googled it and found a possible solution random29 wrote:
Someone asked me to make a new thread for this. I fought this battle last night:
Step 1.
Download the patch into the folders PS3>>>UPDATE on your thumbdrive. It has to be in that exact strucure. It won't be seen if it's not in the root folder of the thumbdrive. You can get the download from step 2 of the instructions here
http://us.playstation.com/support/systemup...pdate/index.htm
Step 2.
Put your old hard drive in. Go to system updates. and UPDATE FROM THE USB (do not do an auto update). Sorry about the caps but, it's the important part. Step Three
Install the new hard drive
Step Four
Run the update from the same thumbdrive. I'm going to try this now, will report back in later. Edit: The ps3 now saying no update data when i tried to update via storage Edit: Found the culprit. Firefox renamed the file to PS3UPDAT(2).PUP because theres an old update file in the download folder. Renamed it to PS3UPDAT.PUP and its fine now. The process above works and I'm now installing the backup files. This post has been edited by todak: Feb 5 2011, 07:58 PM

I've already accepted the new TOC last week with 3.56V2 update and my son was playing lbp online at 2pm today just fine.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Feb 18 2011, 08:36 PM) Since 2 days ago it came up (I knew cause I logged in to an account that I've not logged in for very long time), but it was made compulsory today. You are right. I did the TOC last week for another account on my ps3. Looks like you have to do it for every account.
