QUOTE(Pain_X @ Dec 8 2010, 12:18 AM) Guys, need some help,i think my ps3 YLOD. Well since there is no more warranty, you can probably try to fix it yourself using the heat gun if you don't want it to send to shop for repair.I was playing my ps3 earlier and suddenly it turned off by itself and the red light started blinking. I tried pressing the stand-by button but it'll just turn green for 1 second, yellow then start blinking red. Is this the dreaded YLOD...? What can i do? Its not under warranty anymore. Its the phat 40gb version. Please help Here is an example video: It is a risky thing to do but it almost always succeeded in fixing the YLOD |

A customer drop by asking to fix his PS3. He claims to not able to eject the disc, but the symptom showed YLOD.
I might try to attempt to fix this issue via heat gun. Here is the snap shot of the unit: |

QUOTE(dark_heart07 @ Dec 9 2010, 11:16 PM) last time when my 40GB got YLOD while playing,my disc also stuck inside.but i manage to eject it by switch on the back button while pressing the eject button. I tried that already, didn't work. The console is definitely dead. If the customer approves me to fix it, it will be my second attempt to fix it via head gun technique. |

QUOTE(Godlike war @ Dec 10 2010, 05:55 AM) Yes. YLOD fix is a temporary solution anyway, but I am very curious to see the internal of the first gen PS3. Added on December 10, 2010, 4:12 pmI managed to fix the YLOD with the 60gb PS3. Doing testing now by letting it run for a while. GREAT SUCCESS!! QUOTE(lwyan_79 @ Dec 10 2010, 06:35 PM) You need:1. Torx & Philip screw drivers 2. Thermal paste (normal coolermaster can do) 3. Heat gun (very important) 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Ic1_TY-GU 5. Luck |
