I had someone give me a little intel on this situation. He has a friend who works for Sony but I won't say where just in case. I do trust this intel though.
An unnamed group of hackers attacked the PSN with a LOIC attack (Low Orbit Ion Cannon) which caused a Ddos attack (Distributed Denial Of Service) targeted at the PSN's Customer's credit card information and the Admin/Dev passwords (Administrators/Developers). Next they finally breached the security measures and Sony promptly shut down the PSN so they could not actually access the information. Now Sony is resetting all the passwords for their Administrators and Developers plus adding tougher security. They expect PSN to be up by Monday.
Tony i kenot brainnnnnnnnnn!!!  denial of service targeted at PSN credit card infooooooooo?!?!?! denial of service = mengalang perkidmatan = we kenot access PSN which mean u sent non stop, fast, heavily large packets to TCP and UDP port.. wtf those guys made DDoS to hack credit card info?? waffakkkkk??! |

the truth is.. sony shutdown service coz diaorang nak introduce PSN 2.0 then diaorang blame hackers yang wat memacam kat server diaorang.. so, with this new PSN 2.0 it comes with lotsa new features, much more securities and better service compared to XBL.. on the 4th quarter this year, SONY will make cross-platform gaming official.. so we can play with PC gamers.. you'll start paying for PSN starting on 2nd June.. |
