my budget is below 2k for amplifier only. this is for my living room.
preferable with usb connection.

i'm not so particular about the sound, as long as can pair with decent speaker and woofer, it's good enuff.

purpose is to play music, movies, and karaoke.

any suggestion for 2k worth amplifier?

if you do not need 3D capability, i would suggest you to get yamaha RX-V465, it should be priced around RM1.5k or maybe less than that.

2 front 2 surround 1 center 1 subwoofer

7 channels is actually 7.1
2 front 2 surround 2 rear surround 1 center 1 subwoofer

normally a decent speaker set cost more than 1k wit the subwoofer

not sure of the pricing - but you might want to look at the Marantz NR1501 or NR1601

get an amp without USB then get a Media player (like Seagate FreeAgent Theater+, only $239 last I saw) that will play any media you throw at it. I think it's much easier than finding an amp within your budget that has a USB input.

Speaker packages vary in price a lot - do you want small satellite sized speakers or bookshelf sized?
