About memory (especially apa itu so call NAND RAM):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory
*
U another one believe there is a thing call NAND RAM???

I don't need the Wiki to tell me what is ROM/RAM...

make it clear that... there is no such thing call NAND RAM.. NAND is a logic gate .. and it is not a RAM... it is a type of EEPROM....

don't get confuse by some PRO telling you there is NAND RAM in the phone.. doh.gif

NAND is the technology use toward most of today RAM mah... those XOR tech is expensive, those DDR2, DDR3 come cheap because of lots of company mass produce those cheap "NAND Type" RAM... correct me if i'm wrong  sweat.gif
*
I really don't have this knowlagde... enlighten me how to use NAND to make RAM... and how NAND achieve the Speed requirement of today RAM... and how NAND addressable..

or u telling me today RAM do not need power to keep it memory.. so I can boot OS instantly..... from power off to ON..

@Leo.. NAND use in a lot of memory storage today... like, thumb drive, SD card etc... even SDD....

try not to give misleading info here... give us Proof...

ur company maybe talking about NAND type of Memory... that is not RAM...

no such NAND RAM crap who show himself how full the Vassel is... doh.gif

actually i kept quiet..i am still rather confused...so there's no such thing as NAND RAM right? since from what i read NAND is stores sequentially, not random access

NAND are 1 type of EEPROM.. there is no such thing as NAND RAM.. u r right...

Added on September 8, 2010, 12:46 pmand Yes thanks to the very knowladgable ppl telling you there is NAND RAM to make ppl confusing and still wanna think he/she is right..

there is no arguement... there is no such thing as NAND RAM... finish.. and the one who tell ppl there is NAND RAM in phone, simply doesn't understand what is NAND.... and do not accept what is wrong and do not accept he/she don't have the knowladge... end of story...

Then you should start by example and stop going into every Symbian Specific Phone threads and tell them their phone don't have NAND RAM. Why now only use virtual memory.

that's true for most people, but in computing world we are strict in what the specific term mean and what does it describe. and there is no such thing as NAND RAM

there is according to this post... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=36168232

but sorry.. he/she said he/she never say so...

it is very Irrespectful to call ppl "it".... not funny at all...

about the part that he/she calling me 'it', it's a small joke that i can take..i just don wanna see people misleading people with self created terms
*
I am trying to sarcastic there.. about NAND.... I didnt say anything about "NAND RAM"... I say NAND...

again.. there is no such things as NAND RAM...

the "IT" part is not refer to u.. is refer to Andrew....

QUOTE(sklchan @ Sep 8 2010, 05:16 PM)
I just quote some of the words from the link I've provided previously and it make all the fuss gone:

=====
Flash memory is also widely used. Because SRAMs and DRAMs are known to be highly volatile, many new products adopt the flash memory technology. Some examples of devices using flash memory include portable music players, scientific calculators, mobile phones, and even certain types of personal computers such as the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) devices. Flash memory is divided into two types: the NOR type and the NAND type. The NOR type is the one able to conduct a random access, therefore being widely used as a ROM in today's market. NAND memory does not support random access, but is still quite useful in applications like flash USB drives.

yah.. glad that my info to u can enlight you about NAND.... some ppl don't.. still think there is... sweat.gif

lets stop this about NAND ram thingy.. continue N8..

N8.. ok N8.. what else to talk about it.. give a topic pls....

QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 8 2010, 05:21 PM)
Yes, with that should conclude the topic...

Different approach but all achieving the same thing. But there is still no NAND RAM.
However, I still dont believe we will find a truly fully multi tasking system.

Multi threaded OS with multi core CPU? smile.gif
