Best ram for overclocking quaddies and duallies are the same. Just that each mobo and proc have different max fsb limit so the higher the ram can be clocked the better.

He's using Giga P35 DS3 which needs higher vcore to compensate the high vdrop and vdroop. smile.gif

Try to orthos your proc, and slowly decrease the vcore if its stable.

high vcore = more heat

How can the crt be the problem if it doesnt even related to the processor overclocking capabilities ?

My guess is that maybe the psu is degrading causing the previous 3.4ghz working setting not usable.

increase the vcore more, my fsb max is around 490mhz. but to get at that speed i really need to pump a lot of vcore.

Nothing wrong as long as you monitor the temperatures and i think its just for benching purposes not 24/7 so it should be ok for a short period.

Dual core would be better if you are just into games, quad core if you are going to do a lot of multitasking.

Depends on your budget too because quad core is more expensive compared to duallies.

It boils down back to your usage and cooling system, so if you wanna get the quad and run it stock dont worry unless you wanna oc.

What do you mean by 4ghz game ? doh.gif

If you do multitasking get quad if not just stick to dual. Cheaper, cooler and easier to overclock.
