No need simcard, A-gps does not mean it is inferior to GPS alone.

The assisted is for cellular triangulation to speed up location lock.
It is actually the apps that require the data transfer, cause google maps don't store the maps in ur phone.

But if you have brut mod or some other map apps with the maps stored in the phone, you don't even need any sim/data.

Please understand what A-GPS means before thinking 'aiya'. lol

Yes, A-GPS means assisted GPS, it should come with a fully functional GPS chip.

The assisted is for either wifi IP location or cell triangulation to speed up location determination. It's like a value added feature I suppose.

Disabling wireless location will stop the A-gps function and only use the GPS to determine location.

Papago can be installed to use the maps/navigation in 'offline' mode.

You can choose to switch it on or off.
If you switch wireless networks off, cellular triangulation will not be active and location will be determined solely via GPS signal.

The cellular triangulation and/or wifi IP location determination is only active if you select wireless network location determination. It is an option to speed up location determination, not a requirement.

This is a tablet with phone/3G capabilities.

Call using a bluetooth headset or wired headset.

Carry around using a folder type case would be ideal.

Samsung reportedly selling a leather case that is for the galaxy tab.

No earphone speaker, only wireless or wired headset for making calls.
Samsung made sure so people won't look stupid holding a slab up their face.

still writting my review and later oni take pics and upload inside the other forum. i'm busy working on a review for the new LG e900.

basically not alot of apps was designed for this reso so i dont have a lot of things working.
However navigating with Papago X5 M'sia + MFM works on this but that also because i had 2 units of the galaxy tab. 1 wasn't functioning properly.
I could only manage to install papago on the 2nd unit. And because i have 2 units, 1 was on 2.2 and the other was on 2.1.
To make things worst, both performed differently, both had diffrent playtime and both somehow looked different (i suppose its the contrast or colorwise and not the exterior modelling)

i will write more once i get a confirmation on which is the pre-final release and which is going to be on sale.
i cant be bothered to write both. meanwhile be patient. i'll write up more stuff once i have the time. i'm getting married soon so i need to concentrate on that.

Not having most apps work at that resolution may be a deal breaker. But then again, devs should expect to create apps for higher resolutions based on the slew of tablets to be release within the next 6-10 months.

With the TFT LCD instead of AMOLED or S-AMOLED, we can look towards a competitive pricing. The only thing that would really make it expensive would have been the screen.

Hopefully we can get it around the SGS price. Then I would snap it up.

And yes it does look very very snappy, and this is good news as it means they can optimise 2.2 on the SGS as well.

Added on September 2, 2010, 5:44 pmConfirmed same processor as the SGS, based on screenshots of the system info stats.
Somehow endadget reported wrongly.

Added on September 2, 2010, 5:46 pmAnother thing is available RAM is above 400MB on the tab. So I hope on SGS froyo, we get 400+ ram as well, instead of the current 326mb.

The connector is a PDMI connector, not so much a proprietary one.
Well, the dell streak has one too. lolz

Oh chey. Aiya.. True, the homescreen dock looks different. I wonder if we can add in more icons.

But then again, the SGS needed the phone in there as well, so we'll see how 2.2 turns out for SGS.

Putting a sticker at the back doesn't really mean anything.
The final product has a white plastic back, not the silver one.

I'm not defending anyone, but to make a slim tablet, I don't really see many ways besides it being rectangle and have a bezel.

The various buttons, capacitive or hardware and it does sport a PDMI which looks similar to apple's proprietary interface, but then again PDMI is supposed to be the next 'standard' for portable media devices.

Too slow la... Tegra2 is the future...

I cant be too bothered about battery life for tablet since it will be primarily used for indoor usage. It has to have a powerful enough CPU to replace netbook.

Battery is important to me, I want to use it outside. And I don't want a cable attached to it while I'm charging as it'll then limit the portability in the home as well.
