loads of optimistic fellas around but we have been poor for weeks...

MU's slack gave us a 15 minutes of mad football....but serious....we were poor for almost 70 minutes!!!!

and with exception of the Bucharest game, i cant remember any fluid and composed display

plenty to cry over...nothing much to cheer about....

i dont see any light, with exception of Raul might turn out to be a useful player....

folks..the TABLE does not lie....i know we only played 5 games but position 16 and-3 goal difference ( MINUS 3!) is exactly what our football deserve....

i posted here before the MU game that i will give more games before calling for Roy's head...i know he is working in very difficult situation...

but after last night's performance.....i am not so sure anymore...the biggest game of the season...and we were just toothless...with exception of Torres frightening the daylight out of Evans...

Is Roy serious that inadequate when it comes to tactic and formation?

I am saying it again, like a boring recorder..the table doesnt lie.. after 5 insipid performances, we're near bottom, with a minus 3 goal difference...and this is a squad with Torres, Gerrard, Cole, and several other reasonable names....

honestly, it doesn't matter to me if the scums win number 19 this season or no, all I'm hoping is just to bounce back and challenge the top 4 again. Am in no mood to post all my rants on RH, I thought we were great at defending and dull when it comes to attacking, I change my thoughts, we are now neither good at defending or attacking. Where are all the critics? Why blame Torres Jamie? I thought you have always liked to blame managers, oh wait, Rafa is Spanish
*
I've i've always respected anyone who wore our coveted Red jersey.....even if they were not a big hit in terms of success and trophies....except for one...Diouf...whom i label as a disgrace..(Michael Owen...well....too controversial of a topic....)

sadly, if Jamie is not misquoted by the press.......he is becoming one (at least to my eyes)....

That aside, we offered nothing as an attacking force and I can now understand why Hodgson's Fulham were abysmal away.

Que Sera Sera.

i am now worried....Blackburn became dull and insipid under Roy as well...oh dear..

Damn yanks are going to refinance their loans again. Seriously, if this were 10 years ago, there would be little doubt we'd collapse the same way Leeds did. Our saving grace is that billionaires are looking for a new hobby and football is near top of the list. Now if only those two clowns would just cut their losses and leave.

The lack of insight in your statement is surpassed only but your apparent lack in intelect.

i know one of them is trying but i thought there were resistance from the board and perhaps RBS? or its all just what we Malaysian call `wayang'...

I am not too fond of players speaking out against their managers in public, especially when the club is in frail conditions. It serves no purpose other than fulfilling one's selfish desire. However, if the topic in question - hoofing is actually one of the root causes of the problem are facing, it makes it all the more worrying. What Roy needs to realize is that we still have a batch of internationals who has the enough experience and skill to play some decent football. Going back 2 steps is not going to do them any favour.

Also, he seems to be content with the form we are having at the moment - eg. conceding that we were lucky to get a point from St.Andrews, or openly admitting that we're lucky to have Torres against West Brom etc... Even though Rafa was always with his usual "We need to analyse the problems... I'm concentrating on the next match," he acknowledges the problem but has never been content with it. This is Liverpool, not Fulham!

Like I've said, we have 2 must-win home matches next. If we don't put out a convincing display (Which is not impossible considering we imposed ourselves on Arsenal when down to 10-men!) we might as well as prepare our farewells for Torres and Reina.
*
i concur....traditionally, long ball hoofing and tactics are used by inferior teams. To me, it is also a sign of a gaffer who just wants to keep things simple without much worries over tactics and formations...

Wimbledon and the Norway international of the early 90's...no stars, no tactics nous...just blast it forward....

sad way to play football....

Purslow...

"Liverpool Football Club is not going bust. We have an extremely healthy business with record revenues and we are highly profitable," he said.

"We have cash, we are solvent, we have banking facilities which last beyond the end of next season and we are heavily scrutinised by the Premier League.

"To achieve our UEFA licence we went through that process and they were very happy with what they saw - so I cannot conceive of a situation where Liverpool Football Club could go into administration.

"The issue today is that too much of our profit is being used to service loans put into place when the club was bought.

Passionately, and every minute of my working day I look for the day we are able to reduce our debt, freeing up our profits to be able to invest on players."

if this guy is sincere and a true Liverpool fan , then the statements above does comfort me..a lot..

i didnt see match so no comments.....if still lack of creativity, decisiveness in our attack, then yes..this man doesnt know how to manage Liverpool...sorry....

okay..just read from espnsite..

It would have not been so bad had the Cobblers come to Anfield and given a particularly stirring performance but they were only really energised by McKay's goal, growing in confidence as their opponents' gradually receded.

Worringly for manager Roy Hodgson, Northampton goalkeeper Chris Dunn was hardly tested.

IF we sack RH now, who you guy think should fill his shoes now?

Martin Oneil ?

Dunga?

Who take over? someone who managed Liverpool before, someone who tasted success as a player and manager before...won the league before, and is still following the league closely....

and more importantly, he volunteered for the job..and recently stated that he was disappointed he didnt get it...

and you know what...i think he'll manage Liverpool for minimal salary..knowing his love for the club..

and lastly...after reading what Sir Slur boasted about Kenny and himself during those days...i am sure King Kenny will relish the chance to do something and rebuild the club and knock the Scums out of their perch...

sure, its been a long time since he managed, he failed before in managing Celtic, he is risking his reputation as one of Anfield greats if he comes back and take over this difficult job...

so...who will manage Liverpool if RH leaves?

Bring King Kenny on right now!!!!

and dont quote me what happened between Newcastle and Shearer....because Kenny aint Shearer when it comes to management

really...if Roy cannot lift Liverpool in the next few home matches after this embarrassment, there is really no way out...

swiss team go into worldcup for first time in many decades, when he arrive inter finish last season one point from relegation, inter finish 3th before he leave

Roy is not a `bad' manager....its just that from the performances so far...Liverpool is just not a threat...to anyone...you'll feel that Wigan, Wolves and even Blackpool will now fancy a win if they entertain Liverpool at home...

hence..the worry is if Roy is good for mid-table clubs or minnow countries looking to pull some surprising results to survive or qualify for World Cup..

but in Liverpool...its different..

pity him also, coming in with many baggages and when the club is in turmoil..but the point is this is still a team with international stars.......it might not be in a time where they can challenge for top 2 ...but its still a good team..man for man....

why the dull performances on the pitch?

lol...my point was, he unable to bring the club further after a promising season season, not once but twice. and RH was only incharge for how many games? Give him a break, at least till Jan
*
you look at it from the `macro' view..and you have a point...if Rafa is given that much time and still cant produce what matters, why the judgement on RH after less than 4-5 months in charge...

but for me, i also look at it from the `micro' view....ie the 90 minutes of football...Roy has managed Liverpool against strong teams, midtable teams and last night...a team couple of divisions below us...

putting the results aside...the worrying thing is for most of the 90 minutes...our football do not threaten the opposition AT ALL......very dull and unimaginative football...

that's why over in North London, there are still a hugh group of `Wenger must stay' followers despite the barren cabinet.....because they still see promising football every week....

For what it's worth, United was beaten by Leeds last season in FA Cup. LOL.

That being said, IMO, RH should have lifted the spirits of his players by trying winning something. Realistically, you guys have a good chance in Carling and FA Cup. Big teams would want to field either their second XI or youngsters in Carling cup.

Again, IMO, by winning either of this cups, it should lift player's spirit and self-motivation.
*
at this point, MU and Liverpool are different....
1. you guys are spoilt by success. Even if MU dont win anything this season, its still a club very much on the go....(of course we Pool fans will hope that your glory days are ending soon...)...so its different when you get knock out early in the FA cup or Carling cup...maybe a few days of complaint, and a few young immature fans calling for Sir to be sacked...but overall, the club is doing well...

2. More importantly, MU is still producing good football ie flowing football and looking likely to score every time...(bar a few off days of course...)..the green-yellow movement might be unhappy with the Glaziers but they still see good football every week. They still see MU frightening other teams every week...Nani can create chances, lazy Berbatoz is waking up and looking dangerous, Rooney is always Rooney when it comes to goals, and the seemingly evergreen Scholes/Giggs....(feel like taking a bath with 5 bars of soaps after typing all these `praises' about MU)

...but NOT LIVERPOOL at this moment

YEs, we're having loads problems with our own Yanks...we just changed the gaffer, our stars are threatening to leave, the fans are upset against the owners, directors, etc....

but what really matters is when we go to the stadium or turn on the TV...we want to see Liverpool playing well...and playing well enough....some of your fellow MU fans might laugh at us and say we're still living in the past relying on past glories despite our decline, but i'll say sod off them...Liverpool is still a big club...and we fans still want to see good football..
