For the 5 games in a row, Liv only wake up or how to play for 15-20 min, the rest just lead the opponent to bombarb Reina's goal.
And I hate to say again and again, Liv deserved nothing from the match. |

QUOTE(3xtheman @ Sep 19 2010, 11:03 PM) I dont know why you guys are so down about this defeat. Did great? first off, old trafford is one of the toughest places to play. period. and not to mention man u's pass two home games, they won 3-0 each. and man u is not a team to concede alot, if any goals at home. yes, we played badly in the first half, we got better in the second. we did GREAT to score 2 goals away from home. players , ie Stevie G, Joe Cole, Torres looked lively. Id say this is a considerably good performance against one of the best teams around. im hoping our good form continues till the end of the season and may it only get better. Id say good game overall, poor defending, berbatov finished very well. !---YNWA---! Score a penalty and a freekick (which defender should brave enough to block the ball instead avoid it) is not something to proud about. There is virtual zero threat to VDS for the entire match. Good performance?? Did I watch the wrong match? It is lucky that come back from 2-0, but yet defending is still dismay. Liv only plays better for 15-20 period, other than that, it is just like attacking vs defending practice which Liv is the end of the defending side. Added on September 19, 2010, 11:24 pm QUOTE(mybiebie @ Sep 19 2010, 11:20 PM) From my pov, zero point.AF makes a sensible comment and hit the nail on the head. QUOTE "They (Liverpool) didn't offer anything and depended on decisions from the linesman to get back in the game. Edwin van der Sar had no saves to make, Paul Scholes controlled the midfield and we looked dangerous up front with Dimitar and Nani - I couldn't see us losing the game." Again it is not the result the matter, it is the performance concern the most!
So far, the performance is as good as relegation fighting team. As soon as I watch for 30 min, I just wish the match ended now, with 0-0. Reviewing the 1st goal I was shock to see Torres marked Berbatov (opponent player that you know is threat to the goal) when corner kick time???? Torres is not known for its aerial ability and defending! |

QUOTE(jiidaineko @ Sep 19 2010, 11:54 PM) nice try Liverpool. Should've been a draw. Webb made a huge mistake for not sending oshea off. clearly the last man holding Torres back. To be fair,Liv has been getting away from several potential penalty in the past few games even this game, especially our defenders nowadays like to holds on opponent shirt during set-piece and corner kick time. Even it ended up a draw, there still lot of worry on the performance side. |

This is the result if Liv continue let opponent to bombarb your goal.
Sometimes, need to take initiative to attack. Now seem like every match, just let opponent attack (even WBA attacked Liv constantly), and just hoping some magic moment, some counter attack, hooping the ball up to Torres and doing some magic and win 1-0. Even Blackpool is more energetic and play more positively. Added on September 20, 2010, 11:26 am QUOTE(all blacks @ Sep 20 2010, 11:17 AM) But I really thought Konchesky was kinda bad too... Most of the time he was caught out of position and Nani manages to drive pass him so many time n he wasn't really quick enough... I was wandering whr the hell is Aurelio wen we really need him... This was the 1st goal, Konchesky should be standing glueing with the post, but somehow, he was more central behind Reina. As if he was there, 1st goal can be cleared. Looking at the fixtures, the next 2 games are at Anfield and few more away but nt really with tough teams so I hope we could get more points out of this games... The next big games is in November when they host Chelsea at Anfield... Hope things will change by then... On the 2nd goal actually Konchesky could have saved it as he was supposed to be the post man but I wasn't really sure what he was doing by standing slightly further away from post n hiding behind Reina... Nani is handy for most fullback when he is on form time, to be fair. If financial situation doesn't sort out, as well as new stadium, Liv has every chance to repeat Leeds or Newcastle path, or same level with Everton. QUOTE(-nana- @ Sep 20 2010, 02:06 PM) some of u blame the lack of creativity but i'd blame it on the narrow play n absence of natural width to widen the play and opening up spaces and also minimal running behind defenders.. esp considering we had most of the possession The only accurate passes are between defender and midfield only, once beyond opponent half, players look loss, little off the ball running to create space for midfielder to pass, as well as midfielders don't create passes and space to the forwards, except a few occassion primary through Joe Cole. Arsenal always play quite narror, yet, their passes is damn good and can create spaces for themselves even in a narrow and crowded situation. |

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Sep 21 2010, 04:31 PM) Hoofing tactics never work with us in the past, and so will now. A CB of Agger's qualilty is just too wasteful to play this kinda tactics eventhough i know Carra supports it 100%. Hoofing tactic only works if you have Heskey type of player to knock down, and Owen pace to chase the ball, and shoot and goal. Then park the bus in front of goal until win 1-0 at the end. I fear the exit door is closing in for Agger if this is not sorted out this! Get your act together Roy! It is for scrapping win out of the match. If want win week in week out as a big team, then you bombarb opponent goal, not the other way round. |

Deduct 9 points?
Then Liv become -4, rooting at the bottom of league, and in relegation dog fight then. |

I can't believe Liv cannot beat a league two team.
I even can't believe Liv hardly tested a league two GK. I didn't watch the match, is Liv still being bombarded by opponent goal as usual as for the last 5 league games? and by a league two team? Somemore it is played at Anfield!! This post has been edited by cherroy: Sep 23 2010, 11:11 AM |

Rafa time people call it boring, too defensive minded
Now, it is no more boring, quite correct, but it turns out scary to watch even against lower league team. |

QUOTE(radio_head @ Sep 26 2010, 12:15 AM) tactics can only take you so far....liverpool's squad lacking quality and depth. dynamic duo torres gerrard is now just...gerrard. one man team. I disagree. Liv squad is miles better than Sunderland, WBA, Birmingham. (No disrespect to other team)Current squad 90% of them are getting 2nd place with 80+ points in the 2 season ago. I feel awful to watch every game, always opponent bombarding Liv goal one even at Anfield! 6 games 6 points, relegation candidate. In fact all the 6 games play/display, does look like relegation battle. |
