QUOTE(corallinkz @ Dec 27 2010, 11:32 AM) thanks for that tips jeffrey. btw, anyone know IMBI asus contact number? as i dont really have the guts to change the wifi card myself -- perhaps ill ask them to do. that would be free right ? and how many times we can ask the official MALAYSIA asus service center to do this replacement/re-paste etc without any charge? and one more thing, for the RMA, is it only i have 1 time opportunitites can RMA back to asus and after that i need to pay for that. im not sure about this, thats why i'd ask. thanks for helps Actually it is pretty simple. I just change mine to intel 6200N and it takes less than 5 min to do it. Unless you going to add 1 more antenna with the 6300N then it is different story. next job: going to swap the optical drive with 3rd harddisk... QUOTE(DoubleU @ Dec 27 2010, 03:41 PM) yea i sort of wished the g53 was as easy to dismantle as the G73... adin where did you get your card? i can't find one in JB.... Added on December 27, 2010, 3:53 pmhm just got off the ASUS call centre, apparently we're not allowed to dismantle the G53jw by ourselves? Even if there is no warranty void sticker? hm... i guess i'll fix my wifi card in sydney.... @cheesenium is the service centre convient in sydney? I bought it thru Taobao from China, cost me RM47 including shipping to Malaysia. Also found that our stock card (Atheros 9285) only selling around RM20 in China. Added on December 27, 2010, 5:14 pmQUOTE(DoubleU @ Dec 27 2010, 05:05 PM) hm, i thought since its next to the Olympic park it would have easier access than plentong in JB.... =\ You staying in Plentong??? QUOTE(corallinkz @ Dec 27 2010, 08:57 PM) thanks. do you have any reference that i can refer on? i've already get my wifi card, just matter of time shipping back to malaysia + assemble time emm, no reference. What I did was; 1. Open the back cover. You can see your half height mini pci-e wifi card at the top left side. 2. Unscrew the 2 small screws and the card will "pop" up. Remember to detach the 2 antennas with your finger before that. Do it slowly. 3. Take out the card and replace with the new one. Push the card down and put the 2 screws back. Reattach 2 antennas. 4. Download the official driver from intel website. It is very easy. Hope this help you. Cheers.
