QUOTE(balat @ Nov 7 2010, 02:13 AM) hey guys.. I have few questions here. I have placed my pre-order on G53JW from xoticpc. But I can see most of ASUS G Series members here purchased from gentechpc. I find out that these two resellers are reputable and trusted. I chose xoticpc over gentechpc because the price they offered is cheaper. So I wanna ask u guys do our customs charge any fee on notebook product when the item is quoted in its actual value and not gift? Thanks. Nope. There are NO import tax for notebooks in Malaysia. However, there will be probability that your notebook will be detained in your local customs and you have to collect it yourself and pay RM18 for the customs declaration form. Keep us updated with your notebook status yea. Hope to see you more often here too. This post has been edited by Jeffrey1987: Nov 7 2010, 05:06 AM |

QUOTE(qq_bear @ Nov 6 2010, 12:31 PM) Just to share that I finally can meet my G53 in person for a great big hug. The laptop works perfectly and can run most of the latest games in highest resolution smoothly. Kudos! You probably the 1st Malaysian or LYN member who get this mini stealth fighter. Following are my spec & some tests : Spec : | Corei7-740QM | 6GB DDR3 | GTX 460M 1.5GB | FHD 1080 | 1.25 TB | Wireless N6200 | Benchmarks (Ver 260.99): High Performance Mode 3DMark Vantage : 8592(1280 X 1024)- Performance PCMark Vantage : 6686 (1280 X 960) 3DMark 06 : 12743(1280 X 1024) To sum up , I'm very pleased with this machine. The built quality, stealth fighter exterior design are outstanding, ultra bright screen, awesome gaming performance, velocity responsive backlit keyboard, extremely quiet under regular load, moderate weight and size for a portable gaming machine. My only complain is the heat production , the gpu temperature reaches 90°C in Furmark test and touches 83°C after 5++ hours of games play (Medal of Honor 2010 & Darksiders with highest setting). However, I've ordered CM U2 notebook cooler and hope it does a good job. On the other hand, the webcam is inadequate and very poor quality. Here are some pics of my g53 for sharing. Sorry for low resolution though. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on November 7, 2010, 5:17 am QUOTE(corallinkz @ Nov 7 2010, 05:08 AM) You are welcome. Oh yea, I would recommend you to buy Logitech G700 over Roccat Pyra Wireless Mouse although DoubleU said that Roccat has similar design to G73 and it is quite match. I bought my Roccat Pyra Wireless Mouse last time with a similar thought but I found out that it is too small compared to G73 and then I sold it out and got myself a Logitech G700. You can watch the Logitech G700 and Roccat Pyra Wireless Mouse reviews in my YouTube channel. This post has been edited by Jeffrey1987: Nov 7 2010, 05:24 AM |

QUOTE(corallinkz @ Nov 7 2010, 08:42 AM) thanks for the heads up. Logitech G700 is a wireless mouse but you can use it as a normal wired gaming mouse too. I'm not so sure about the weight for Logitech G700 but IMHO Roccat Pyra Wireless Mouse is lighter than Logitech G700 due to its size factor. However, I still prefer the ergonomic design of Logitech G700 which is very comfortable to hold on. (depends on your hand palm. Mine is small-medium size hand palm) anyway, i see that the G700 is wireless mouse right? isnt' it too weighy? because i do have wireless mouse/keyboard using on my desktop, but in the end of the day, i only use the keyboard LOL as i dont like much on the mouse, too weighy and make my hands feels tired. Added on November 7, 2010, 5:27 pm QUOTE(qq_bear @ Nov 7 2010, 02:09 PM) Congrats! Corallinkz! I'm sure you will fall in love when you meet this gorgeous machine! Glad to hear that you are really contented with your G53. I'm in the same feeling with you too. Thanks Jeffrey! That's my great pleasure to join this family! Yup, I think I was lucky enough to be included in the 1st batch shipment of this mini stealth fighter, it took me 3 months to wait, however definitely worth it. DoubleU, I have same thought too and it cost usd75 to do the re-paste. Hence I take a pass! However I may do it myself once the warranty period is over. Cheesenium, you are right about this. I think will live with this since it's not a big deal coz so far I didn't encounter any issues while running those latest games & applications. QUOTE(FollowMeRogerThat @ Nov 8 2010, 03:24 PM) hey jeffrey, did you use paypal e-check? My paypal account is linked to my Australia bank account but I'm going back to Malaysia soon, will probably be doing the ordering and stuff from Malaysia but does that means I need a new paypal account for Malaysia address? Is it possible for us to get that 3% discount using bank payment? I've read like it's possible with paypal e-check.. hmm I used the PayPal method. Usually, we can't do like that as GenTechPC only allows their US customers to buy via PayPal but Ken Lee was kind enough to let me pay via PayPal. In order to get the 3% off, you better used TT but I do know that got one or two thread members who pay via PayPal e-check and successfully asked for 3% off from Ken Lee. I forgot their names though. |

QUOTE(destee88 @ Nov 9 2010, 01:59 PM) mind ask is really worth it to buy RM 5+ laptop as technology thing very fast outdated adn technology is chainging very fast jus like G73JH and G73JW For me, it is worth of every single cents you spend on it as Asus G53 / G73 is really a decent machine with its high performance/ price ratio. As for technology, every single notebook is updated almost every year but I personally think that this gaming machine will not obsolete so fast as the design itself is legendary. * legendary = unique* In terms of spec, I would be a happy guy as long as it can play every single high-end games in HD fluently. I have thought of putting a matte screen protector for my G73 but I'm kinda afraid that it will affect my screen vividness while watching movies or playing games.
