just tried the a33, loving the EVF smile.gif but there is about 1 second lag to activate the EVF when u bring the EVF to eye level. The refresh rate of the EVF is very fast, it wont have ghosting/tearing effect when you moving the camera while looking through the EVF.
the local AF selection is quite easy, it is like the NEX, press the center button and you can choose the AF point.
the grip is abit small, cannot fit my pinkie, but not a major problem for me.
couldnt try the video mode as they dont have memory card in the camera. sad.gif

yeap... is like looking at a550 live view through the OVF... ie: even can select iso through the EVF...

yes, it comes with a rear lens cap but not a body cap. better check with the shop.

Like NEX series, the Sony A55 has weaker performance on low light video shooting and little in accurate compare to 550D and also it is a little bit noisy on high ISO too.

On the other hand people who likes video would highly argue for full manual control, where A55 doesn't have it.

Now there was 2 kinds of video camera option ...

1 - is the full manual control which is much interested on videographer for more special video shooting effect (EOS 550D)

2 - is the fast AF without full manual control which is much interested on someone who take video as a bonus or an option (Sony A33/A55)

People who just take photograph would just don't care about this but in this competition for Hybrid DSLR/EVIL/DSLT era, video takes another new important role for sure as nowadays videography by using DSLR becomes widely popular.

a55 is not released yet in singapore. the RRP for a33 body is SGD 999 and with kitlens SGD1099.

Samsung just released their mirrorless camera to go heads on with NEX! and they have flash hot shoe but without built in flash. The camera has a lot direct access buttons unlike NEX.
