The flooring tiles spoil it all.. is either you shoot outdoor with raw concrete flooring.. or for me, Ill prefer to shoot half body. Just my personal comment as I prefer photo like this to be as clean as possible smile.gif

clivengu: i think if u HDR-ized ur UWA pic.. memang cun... IMHNO (in my honest noob opinion) smile.gif

digitral: i like ur flower pic. but, next time try to get the whole of the flower into the photo... the right side of the flower out of the photo edy.. and also try to get a nicer background.. but otherwise.. i loike... smile.gif

zstan: whats that white dot on her skirt? 0.0 haha kidding... just repeating what clivengu and lwliam said, the top right corner and the tiles killed the photo.
*
Hahaha I did try to HDR a few photos I took using 3 exposure continuous... but I always dont like the merging outcome .. I guess is just too contrast and artificial for my liking.

guys, currently i m using the sal18-70 kitlens for my a200.
and i m planning to invest on a new lens. So which lens should i look at for my next investment?

i m pretty much confuse between the 50mm f1.8, 16-105mm or 16-80Z.

i will be shooting more on indoor.

moga sifu sifu kalian boleh tolong..

btw, can my name be added in the a200 list?

thanks

mike: there is no budget yet. i m setting a goal so that i can save enough to hit it.
there are some people who recommend me to go on 50mm f1.4.
50mm is nice but not versatile for event shooting like parties because there will be alot of group shots.

QUOTE(Windy87 @ Sep 11 2010, 01:50 PM)
ieR: i read a lot of review that says tammy 17-50mm have slow AF. is that true?

*
Depends on your shooting style. How much perfection are you looking towards. Are you easily satisfied & how sensitive are you towards image quality.

For me I vote 50mm F1.4/1.8 (for 50mm F1.4, my acceptance of its clarity is above F2.2 and above, Im not too sure is there image quality difference for the F1.8 though). The result from the Prime is simply amazing.. both good in its colour & sharpness. Most of my photo from this lens do not require any additional sharpening and colour correction because the result is good enough.. and tend to maintain its original quality than editing it. As for other lens like my Tamron 1750 F2.8, it is good, but lack of something especially with the colour... I tend to do a lot more creative editing on photos taken with tamron than 50mm prime... cause it is harder to get the "wow" effect from this lens... mayb im just not a good user.hehe

If most of your usage is for general fast shooting like wedding, party ..or walkaround, of course tamron wont get wrong.. Focusing speed i have no complain about it.. 17-50mm .. how fast will u want it to be tongue.gif 16-105mm has good review.... but the inconsistent Aperture made me finally exclude this as my option...

I use my 50mm Whenever I have the chance. Other lens are just my backup lens tongue.gif I should get more prime lens, maybe the upcoming 35mm F1.8 hoho whistling.gif

Some shot from my 50mm F1.4 during my Europe trip for your reference hehe laugh.gif :

i was comparing against the a550 and the a700.
both have about the same specs.
the noise handling seem better on the a550.
but still alot favours a700.

shud i get a700 or a550?
a700 on average is around 2.3. and a550 is around 1.8k
*
Like albert said, u can wait for A55 instead.. A700 is still good and love its handling.... perfect manual control... if you like to do Studio Wireless shooting etc with many manual control with 2 control scroll. But A700 is old school.. the Noise performance cant even get close to A550 or A55.... and also no Video + Liveview whistling.gif

Mikeshashimi: NIce... I always love abstract photos... is a way to see things a bit differently... keep up the good work.. is okey to photoshop (preferable call it.. Enhancing..less technical) to have that pop up effect for abstract photo like this... very graphic style.

I have NEX5 I'm selling D90 and moving to SLT a55 smile.gif

I have tested the SLT a55 and it is very impressive!!!

anihow I believe in sony as they can manufacturer great product...
*
Welcome to sony.. Finally sony dslr get recognize by other brand smile.gif

I realised that my multi point focusing on my A700 isnt very accurate.. I do a test.... and resulting in 75% of images not properly in focus on most point (other than the center)

Only the Center Spot has almost 100% focus accuracy... while the others are not really usable... Should I send in for calibration? But with which lens should I ask them to calibrate with? any advice? Got another important friend wedding to shoot next month.

mind to tell how u shoot?...the white spot is because of flash??
how many sec of exposure??
*
No lah.. The first picture I think i post here b4 few days ago.. I will wish my photo can be in a magazine too tongue.gif
The Second picture has exposure of 20 seconds, F8. I use TEST button to do multiple flashes on the boats across the river and once near the front (White spot). The white balance is a bit funny n colourful although I can just make it Black & White to solve the problem, but i remained this cause I find it quite unique too..

clivengu: your work is really my inspiration when it comes to architectural shots... since im not so keen on human portraits. but ur 1st london pic got obvious CA. i love number 2 and 4. and i also like number 10. and for number 16 and 17.. if only u could get the view closer, just the chair and overlooking the field... but of course u couldnt get too close... but really.. love ur work.  rclxms.gif
*
Thanks. Im in architecture school guess that influence me when doing shooting too. I think im not very aware/sensitive towards the CA problem.. Mind tell me what is it and where so I can take note tongue.gif Personally i love number 16/17 the best... is not easy to find such opportunity ... although I can Crop it nearer but I cant decide if I wanna exclude the tree and environment because they seem to make important subject as well..

I like the 2nd picture the best... If the reflection has an obvious image such as a cat face or anything.. it will be even nicer. But overall very nice..Something that I dont think i'll have the patient to look into tongue.gif

clivengu: Studio Zaloon may have the A33 and Sony E 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 Active OSS on Friday 17th September 2010.

You could try adjusting focus again (which is why people are warned about the difficulty of tuning it.)

I like #3, very Inception-like. Love the processing in general! Crop off the 1/3rd right part in #15 to make it much better. Love #16 and #20!

*
OH!!! cool.. mayb tomolo I can call Uncle Chin to see if it is available already. For the focusing problem.. u knew I have adjusted myself before.. But I only know Turning All the 3 Screws together .. will adjust the center back/front focusing... thats how i get my A700 accurate at the center. But I hardly use the other points... I guess to really adjust all points.. have to really control individual screw separately... I have no idea which screw for what adjustment. Maybe I should just send in for service? or just live with just Center focusing and recompose all d the time

Thanks for the suggestion on #15.... this is a weird processing...fully graphical.. since this picture is almost rescued from and almost under exposed photo hahaha. Do you mean cropping something like this?

Without heavy PP? what is your setting in your camera? I like 2nd because of the colour (MTV STYLE)... the 1st photo seems underexposed and the technique doesnt seem to be pleasant on potrait. The 2nd photo NATURAL LIGHTING THE BEST rclxms.gif

haha.. now i know you guys punya taste...

No need to care bout ppl taste mah.. As long as u like and enjoy it, tat wats matter more. Anyway Is hard to compare these 2 photos n say which u like.. I can say I like the 2nd one because the girl appear prettier in the photo than the first photo.. so very subjective.. Unless u use the same photo and process differently.. then u can ask which one we prefer... again the PP effect preferences varies from 1 person to another.
