no news on retail a55 in the wild yet..anyone found anything?

mine is dif, i "force" my wife in love with nex 5 thus i have excuse to buy..haha

A55 already available in malaysia jor. I heard from a sony alpha/handycam seller who work in fotokem. He just came back from training for A55 few days ago

It depend on situation lor. If low light condition, and you don't want use high ISO, means have to use slower shutter speed mah.
In this situation, tripod/monopod comes in handy lor.

But usually people seldom use monopod for macro shoots lah. Usually they go straight for tripod jor.

luckly i no buy monopod just now hahahaha i buy raynox 250

Monopod targets telephoto user one, because their lens is too heavy, it can help them support the weight of the dslr and the telephoto lens.

I find it very useful for panning shots too.
