The motto of this year, SUCK IT ALL UP...

If Nokia suck it all up like Intel did with SB recall, then all are forgiven and cheers all over again...

After trying PR 1.1, I think Nokia has finally fix the annoying problem with web application while using landscape keyboard. Now Im going to post and refresh if the double post bug is still there.

Added on February 7, 2011, 10:17 pmLooks like half cooked job from Nokia. Better than nothing, hoping they would add or revamp the way web app works.

no more other symbian phones. Only Nokia. It will be considered very sick even if not dead...
Like proprietary software already

Erm, Nokia can shrink Symbian department and used it to keep their attractiveness in the lower to mid end market. It was well polished to fend off other phones from others as long as they can include a good camera to fend off SE.

Perhaps they should just concentrate on Meego first and then get a hang of it to see where it lies in the market. I dont think you will see Android or WP7 soon. It will be 1-2 years depending on the popularity of Meego.

Btw nokia has announced that they will migrate all symbian phones to WP7. Not sure how is that possible but it was the latest announcement for Nokia

After reading the article, I realised that the message was, all FUTURE Nokia phones will be on WP7 and no more on Symbian. Damn, must sue the blogger for his wrong title.
*
Symbian will still exist for low end phone, wasn't it?

If they migrate it to WP7 wont that be another setback for them? Weird la using nokia devices with WP7. Now i rather just hope that MeeGo OS didnt die like it suppose to.

Elop clarified that MeeGo will ship this year but "not as part of another broad smarpthone platform strategy, but as an opportunity to learn." Something that sounds very similar to position Nokia took with its so-called "experimental" Maemo-based N900 last year. After the first (and apparently, only) MeeGo device ships this year, the MeeGo team will then "change their focus into an exploration of future platforms, future devices, future user experiences." Trying to determine the "next disruption" in smartphones.
Responding to "hope for a broad MeeGo-based ecosystem," Elop said that Nokia simply wasn't moving fast enough to effectively win and compete against Apple and Google. Windows Phone makes it a "three-horse race," something that Elop says is pleasing to the carriers he's been speaking with.

That sums it all up... another N900 in the making... moreover, Elop specifically said this...

Leo,

Hard reset works. But for your case, if your firmware update gone bad, then different story.

Just like those with dead SGS. If your bootloader is gone, it aint gonna detect the hard reset keys.

C7 is such a piece of crap. Same crappy battery life with N8 but at least N8 has better camera, HDMI and anodized aluminium.

And now they are claiming Nokia T7-00 "Will Blow Your Mind"... I REALLY CANT WAIT...

Let me try to explain ...  the server in Canada are so powerful that send power over the air to charge ur phone///  laugh.gif
laugh.gif

one of the reason why is BB do not need to keep pulling data...
*
But on my C7, I already set the Fb and emails to retrieve every 15minutes... and without even touching the phone at all from the time I on it @ 8am and by 12~1pm, left 30%... surely something is wrong... Even my other phone Legend did not suffer from such battery discharge rate. Only both N8 and C7. Quite a mystery from what the fans refer to as the most efficient and true mobility OS.

BIS using TRUE push technology. It is not like other OS which claims to have PUSH email but actually it still PULL the emails.

How does PUSH technology works? The RIM server in Canada will pull the emails for you. Once the email is pulled, it will then be pushed to your BBerry phone. Which means, your phone don't need waste its power to do the pulling job like Android, iPhone or Symbian. That is where the battery life is extended. Your phone only connects to internet when emails etc is pushed to your phone.

Also, when that happens, you will save your internet bandwidth as there is no unnecessary connection to internet to check for new emails.

That is the reason for C7 to have a bad battery life when you access email, internet etc.
*
Thanks for PUSH explanation.

Still, does it takes up so much battery out of it with just periodic 15minutes checking? 8am - 12/1pm and left 30%. My Android phone run with much more widgets pulling twice as much data but still outlast it. And I havent do anything else yet. A phone that dead by 3pm without doing anything is not cool.

Who cares about those retards?

My wife is using N8 without data and it does last. Comparing it to something they claimed to use for minutes whereas Im using it daily. On the other hand, perhaps we had to thank them for fooling their beloved Nokia that everything is ok and good but in the end had to ditch the BURNING platform.

Probably because those parts at the back of the phone are mainly made of stainless steel rather than plastic and you are feeling the heat because of that.

I also had the same problem with my Nokia E71 last time. I think that should be OK.

Probably you can off your 3G and then use your phone because I realise that the phone gets more hot when it is running on 3G mode.
*
Even plastic also can get to very scary heat level...

I used to WIFI tether with 5800 and it was hot... and it gets even hotter when you are charging it + tethering at the same time.
