The S95 is not for P&S shooter, more to compliment DSLR users like the G series. The 300HS is better for Auto Mode users.
Damn, don't know should get the S95 or the LX5? Soooo hard to decide...

so meaning if i'm using auto mode only, it's better to get 300hs? coz if i buy s95, my mum wouldn't know how to use it then..

s95 or lx5...depends on whether pocketability is an issue or not lo..n do u want to invest in lens etc..

yup, every other forum i've visited seems to be of that opinion.. if you're just shooting in auto, the 300hs would be better than the s95 - and also more $avings

just saw the s95 in hong kong, retailing for about RM1,400.. the 300hs is about RM1,200.. oh, interestingly, the 300hs is available in silver in hong kong.. i think they only have red, white and black here, no? anyways, that's for a different discussion board

Sim Lim square selling S95 SGD 550. Thats like RM1250. Only comes with 4 GB card.

wah.... i best i get for s90 in all the shop in one utama is Rm1150~ if diff rm100 oni.... better get s95 hor?

Here was what Canon's customer service rep replied to me when I emailed them about S95's launch in Malaysia and about warranty if purchase from other country...

"Thank you for your interest in our Canon products and as a Canon customer we appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We apologize for the delay in reply.

With regards to your inquiry, it is expected to be released sometime by mid November or early December. We would like to seek your understanding here that the warranty only valid at the country of purchase.

Please do contact us if there's any further inquiry.

Thank you and have a pleasant day ahead."

One of the shop at ground floor. I asked around prices ranged between SGD550 (no accessories) to SDG600 (with accessories)

but with a mere difference of only RM200 i think s95 is a better choice lol..haha still can't make up my mind

means 12 mth singapore warranty??... then the additional 2mth ( which we need to register online) is international 1?

saw in website, the warranty is 12+3, 3mths is online registration
if can wait, then wait for m'sia canon lol..if can't, buy from spore then

just wait if u want to have less trouble claiming ur warranty.... my s90 got problem i just send there and 2-3 day fix and can collect back. Sometimes it is not worth risking just be a bit more patient.
