Hardware could be slightly dated & there's no physical keyboard like it's predecessors but you have to say N9 really is something.
Interesting phone design (I lolled when Marko said the polycabonate design won't disturb signal like some competition device) & innovative homescreen.
I have Nokia Malaysia will bring to Malaysia.Feel like want to try it out since it's Maemo's last hurrah.

That looks pretty nice. The hardware isnt that bad either.

Too bad it doesnt comes with keyboard though I dont really mind it.

Btw, what browser is it using ? Is it from MicroB ?
*
New webkit 2 based browser. No more microB.It was killed when MeeGo/Maemo team decided to ditch Gecko for Webkit.

Browser is another thing to lookout in N9.Good browsers are crown of jewel for all maemo device. If this device came with any crappy browser like Symbian I'm sure a lot people will enter rage mode.

i wish the sensor of camera is better XD... but that is not really important, as long as can beat the iphone 4 can already...or iphone 5 XD...

ya web browsing is VERY IMPORTANT for me now...
*
Maemo devices are well known for excellent browsers so in a way you can expect N9 to have good browser. But we'll only know when hands on video appear.

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Jun 21 2011, 04:57 PM)
Yeah you're right, they did make a port, but I think only for later handsets.

By the way guys, I just noticed that this phone will only support Micro-SIM cards only.  rclxub.gif

Apa susah.Potong saja SIM card.Lots of users did it for iPhone4.

What about N950 ? Will it reach here ?
*
It's a developers device.
Either you register for MeeGo or Nokia developers account & apply for the phone or wait till the phone appear in ebay.

Doesn't sound too different compared to N900? rolleyes.gif
We've got tons of alternative apps with funny names, like Tweego for Twitter, Nelisquare for Foursquare.
But we've Firefox, Chrome. And we can install WebOS games and of course Android games in Nitdroid. biggrin.gif

Not officially but well, non-official still counts I guess. laugh.gif

It was so highly priced for such a bulky phone with not so intuitive UI, of course bad sales. doh.gif
*
The funny names is because of licence thingy

I name my phone as FRANKENSTEIN because of this.Installed & ported all kind of funny apps in my phone.

the microb on n900 reli godlike?but the browser brnchmark test just mamadei, far behind safari or android..
*
Benchmarking is 1 thing but using is another thing. For those love desktop like browsing then microB is for you.
Also you have to understand that Nokia stopped updating microB sometimes ago so some of it's feature are behind other browsers.

N9 - The walking dead never look so good...

I lolled @ this comment

Added on June 22, 2011, 10:48 amI don't mind buying N9 but I'm afreaid that MeeGo Harmattan used in N9 contain both open source & proprietary stuff. In case Nokia stopped providing any updates for N9 ( which I think will happen) we cannot alter too much of the OS.

This is what happening with Maemo 5.It contained both open source & proprietary stuff(media player, power management, application manager etc2).There are users willing & capable of dismantling & enhance the OS further but Nokia refuse to provide Maemo 5's entire source code.

It think it might be more like api converter.Application developers still needs to write back to suit an of Nokia's OS.
This is unlike QT for Maemo/MeeGo/Symbian.Write once but compile it for 3 OS.

Someone mentioned that Fruit Ninja can't be played because of the swipe gesture? I think it still possible to play Fruit Ninja or any other swiping games because from I've seen in order to change "homescreen" you need to swipe from edge to edge of screen.Meanwhile in Fruit Ninja you swipe only minor part of the screen.
Also regarding the multitask view. Some application will be shown live while some program(like video player) will be paused.Personally I feel this is a decent idea because it'll make the battery last slightly longer compared to running all the program @ once.

wondering the battery....pray hardly....no 1200mah.please.
*
1450mA for N9 & 1320mA for N950.
No more puny 1200mA battery. But this as with N8 & E7 the battery is not user replaceable.

I think this the 1st article after N900 launched that speaks about Nokia highly.Too bad Nokia already killed MeeGo from their plan.

It's better than N8's 1200mA & N900's 1320mA battery isn't it?
Just comes a bit short than N97's 1500mA battery
