Would just like to know if the HTC Desire's box comes with a security seal to check if it has been opened before? Any other way that I can find out it the handset has been used?

Would just like to ask if I will still be able to claim my 2 year SIS warranty without the purchase receipt? Bought from a forumer so no receipt

Hmm.. coz the seller said the receipt is not necessary. According to the SIS website:

" If you have misplaced your receipt, HTC will consider the warranty coverage to have started based on the date your device was shipped from the factory."

Anyone here who can confirm this?
Oh and really need to get a new SP. Mine was bundled with a matt SP and its a little too thick and makes the screen a little blurry

Yea I was a Samsung user until yesterday. Samsung's after sales was among the top in my opinion but during my 1st visit: "No receipt no warranty". lol

Purchased it 2nd hand so had to call the supplier and get a copy faxed to me asap to make the warranty claim. Good to hear they have done everything in accodring to registered serial numbers now.

Hi. I'm currently using a SLCD unit of the HTC desire which is still on stock ROM. Was thinking of loading a custom 2.2 however I have read that there is no proper RUU file for SLCD models yet (probably I'm not updated on this) hence it is quite risky for beginners to roll back to the stock ROM after loading a custom one. Will it be crucial that I load back a stock ROM if I sent it back to SIS for warranty purposes?

Apparently there has been a new fix which was posted today on xda which downgrades 2.2 back to stock 2.1 for ALL HBoot (returns to 0.83 Hboot after the downgrade)

Regarding the OTA 2.2 update: Once downloaded does the update execute automatically or will the update file be stored in the SD card ?

I just rooted my SLCD Desire with Hboot 0.83 and it was successful. However, I notice that I am no longer able to boot into recovery mode. It just stops at the HTC boot screen (plain white screen with the HTC logo) when I select recovery from the Hboot menu.


I heard that its a prob of the clockworkmod recovery with Hboot 0.83 devices?
Any brothers who have a solution to this prob? I just intend to partition my SD card and load a custom ROM. Been stuck with 2.1 for far too long coz of the delay of me getting my class 10 microSD
