Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023)
If you need one sentence to sum it up, it's this: If you're a Taylor Swift fan, this is an unmissable performance. Almost 3 hours long (also thanks to my cinema having issues with the video twice, each time they rewinded 5–10 minutes before the issue) with an astonishing count (my own count) of 35 songs. The Eras Tour, if you haven't already known, encompasses her "major" songs from each album, including surprises from her self-titled album all the way from 2006, right up to Midnights. The amount of effort that went into this Tour is mind-boggling. If you're a movie aficionado, you know the amount of work it takes to shoot a script, and live play is way more complicated with many moving and intricate pieces. Now think high-octane music, set design, lights, performers, and interaction with the stage elements—all happening at breakneck speeds, one after the other. I don't know if the real live tour has any "breaks" or intentional "pauses", but here the level of moving pieces (metaphorically & literally) sequentially is incredible. I enjoyed "Reputation", "Red", "1989" and the super-sultry "Midnights" eras the most. Cinema-wise, apart from the video issue I mentioned, the video clarity was impeccable & the audio was great, though still not in-person concert-level (Red Tour 2014, that will forever be etched in my memory). But... this will be the closest some of us will get to being on her Eras tour, from the comfort of our local cinemas, unless you are flying to South America, Australia, Europe or even Singapore Overall, this is a very memorable experience and a must-watch for Swift fans, though if you enjoy concert films in general, this one is worth experiencing. I'm glad I (or rather, we) got the chance to watch it on the big screen especially after the initial scare that it might never be here. I know for a fact that watching it later on streaming or video services will NOT do justice. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 10/10 One of the best "cinema" experience for me this year, and definitely the best concert film I've seen in a cinema thus far. Memorable to the last bit. |

Some pics. I was at row 17 VIP1 section PF5, which would have gotten me some great images, but I realized how crappy my smartphone camera is, especially under low light later that evening and in an intense spotlight. With my eyes, it was so much more clear. I would have brought my Sony 4K camcorder, but they wouldn't allow cameras other than smartphone cameras. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The lights, smoke, and VFX on-screen were absolutely incredible. Taylor Swift dominates 2024 Spotify charts with 26.6 billion streams
https://www.smh.com.au/culture/music/taylor...205-p5kvzu.html ![]() QUOTE Pop culture-wise, 2024 was undoubtedly the year of Taylor Swift, with mania over the pop star’s Eras Tour dominating headlines globally. Now, Spotify has revealed that the singer-songwriter broke a raft of records in its wrap of the year – including an extraordinary 26.6 billion streams for her music. Topping Spotify Wrapped, the music streamer’s annual equivalent of the charts, was Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. Released on April 19, the surprise double album was the first in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in a single day, becoming the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024. It broke another record on release day as Fortnight – featuring Post Malone – became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history. By April 22, The Tortured Poets Department became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single week. Taylor Swift Says Her Final Three Eras Tour Shows Will Close the ‘Most Extraordinary Chapter of My Life’ https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/a6...mments-tickets/ ![]() QUOTE “Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far,” Swift said. “See you 🔜 , Vancouver. We can’t wait to give you all we’ve got for three more shows. 🥲” The end of the Eras Tour, December 8th! Total Revenue: $1,930,000,000 (121 shows) |

Another film coming to cinemas
Over 100 international countries expected to get distribution, but given how hesitant (or delayed) The Eras Tour film was here locally, I would not hold my breath... but fingers crossed it will ‘Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl’ to Hit Theaters in October With ‘Fate of Ophelia’ Music Video Premiere https://variety.com/2025/music/news/taylor-...irl-1236524158/ ![]() |
