Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of fourteen to pursue a career in country music. She signed to the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. The release of Swift's eponymous debut album in 2006 established her as a country music star. "Our Song", her third single, made her the youngest person to
single-handedly write and perform a number one song on the country chart. She received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in late 2008. Buoyed by the chart success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", Fearless attracted a pop crossover audience and became the top-selling album of 2009. The record won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest ever Album of the Year winner.

Fearless also received Album of the Year plaudits at the American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Association Awards, making it the most awarded album in country music history. In 2010, Swift released her third album, Speak Now, which sold over one million copies in its first week. She then embarked on the thirteen-month Speak Now World Tour, which included many stadium dates and was attended by over 1.6 million fans. The album's third single, "Mean", won two Grammy Awards. Swift's fourth album, Red, is set for release on October 22, 2012. The lead single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", became Swift's first song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Often described as America's sweetheart, Swift is known for her hook-laden, narrative songs about her experiences as a teenager and young adult. As a songwriter, she has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Swift's other achievements include six Grammy Awards, ten American Music Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards, six Academy of Country Music Awards and thirteen BMI Awards. She has sold over 22 million albums and 50 million song downloads worldwide. In addition to her music career, Swift has appeared as an actress in the crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2009), the ensemble comedy Valentine's Day (2010) and the animated film The Lorax (2012). As a philanthropist, Swift supports arts education, children's literacy, natural disaster relief funds, LGBT rights and charities for sick children.

user posted image

Taylor Swift is the self-titled debut studio album by American country singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The album was released on October 24, 2006 by Big Machine Records. Swift wrote songs for the album during her freshman year of high school and has writing credits on all of the albums' songs including those co-written with Liz Rose. Swift experimented to record the album with several album producers, ultimately choosing the producer of her demo album, Nathan Chapman. Musically, the album is styled to blend country music and pop music and lyrically, it speaks of romantic relationships, a couple of which Swift wrote from observing relationships before being in one.

Fearless is the second studio album by American country pop artist Taylor Swift. Released on November 11, 2008, on Big Machine Records, the album debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums charts. As of February 11, 2010, the album has been certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA.

The album's lead single, "Love Story," was her first song to achieve commercial success outside of the United States. "Speak Now" (2010)
user posted image

Speak Now is the third studio album by American singer–songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 25, 2010, by Big Machine Records. Production for the album took place during 2008 to 2010 at several recording studios, and was handled by Swift and country music producer Nathan Chapman. Written entirely by Swift as the follow-up to Fearless (2008), Speak Now expands on the country pop style of her previous work, and features lyrical themes concerning love, romance and heartbreak.

A deluxe edition was released on the same day exclusively to US Target stores; it contained three extra bonus tracks and two acoustic versions as well as a pop remix of "Mine". Internationally, another deluxe edition was released containing the same three bonus songs and acoustic songs, and three US versions. In 2012, the Target exclusive was released to a wider distribution in the US.

Six singles were released from the album. "Mine" was released as the lead single on August 4, 2010 instead of August 16 due to it leaking online prior to its release. The second single, "Back to December", was released on November 11, 2010. The third single, "Mean", was released on March 7, 2011 and a little over a month later on April 19, 2011 the fourth single, "The Story of Us", was released only to mainstream radio. The fifth single, "Sparks Fly" was released on July 18, 2011 and was the first single since "You Belong with Me" to reach number one on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The final single "Ours" was released as promotional single on November 8, 2011 and was released to country radio on December 5, 2011 and was the second single from Speak Now to peak at number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Speak Now received generally positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Swift's songwriting and themes.

"Red" (2012)

Red is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on October 22, 2012 through Big Machine
Records, as the follow-up to her commercially successful 2010 album Speak Now. It was announced through Swift's live webchat on
August 13, 2012, in which she revealed the album title, album cover, as well as answered fan questions. During it she premiered the record's
lead single, titled "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", which was released to Google Play and iTunes later that day. It became
Swift's first US No. 1 hit. Four promotional singles were released in the month leading up to the album release, all of which debuted inside the
top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, led by "I Knew You Were Trouble" at No. 3. The deluxe edition of Red features three new songs, two demos
and an acoustic version. The album features collaborations with new producers and guest artists such as Max Martin and Ed Sheeran, and
sees Swift experimenting with new musical genres.

Red received favourable reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics,
the album received an average score of 76 based on 15 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews." Melissa Maerz of Entertainment Weekly
gave the album a (B+) and wrote: "(Red) finds her singing about walking directly into traffic, wading into quicksand, and flirting with the kinds of jerks
Kanye West might toast to." and closed her review with: "Red might be about flirting with danger."

"1989" (2014)
user posted image

1989 is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 27, 2014, through Big Machine Records. Swift began planning her follow-up project in 2013 and continued work into 2014, during which time Swift collaborated with producers including Max Martin and Shellback. Their efforts resulted in her "first documented, official pop album", which represents a musical departure from the country pop styles in her earlier work. The album's title is the year Swift was born.

"Shake It Off" was released as the lead single from 1989 on August 18, 2014. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming Swift's second number one single in the country and the 22nd track to debut in the peak position on that chart in Billboard history.

At Metacritic, they assign a "weighted average" rating out of 100 to selected independent ratings and reviews from mainstream critics, and the album has received an Metascore of a 78, based on 8 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews."

Writing for Rolling Stone and rating the album four out of five stars, Rob Sheffield states: "Deeply weird, feverishly emotional, wildly enthusiastic, 1989 sounds exactly like Taylor Swift, even when it sounds like nothing she's ever tried before." Neil McCormick of The Telegraph rated the album four out of five stars and claims: "The immediate impression is slick; candyfloss cheerleading, full of American fizz."

"Reputation" (2017)
user posted image

Reputation (stylized in all lowercase) is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on November 10, 2017, through Big Machine Records. The record was primarily produced by Jack Antonoff, Max Martin, Shellback and Swift herself, who also serves as the executive producer. Described by Swift as her "most cathartic album", the album is influenced by Swift's highly publicized personal life and disputes. The album's sound features a darker and heavier tone compared to Swift's previous projects, delving into her vulnerable side. Musically, it is a pop, electropop, and synth-pop record that contains influences of hip hop, trap, tropical house and EDM.

Artists featured on Reputation include English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and American rapper Future. The album was preceded by two singles, the lead single "Look What You Made Me Do" which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and the second single "...Ready for It?" which debuted and peaked at number four. Reputation received generally positive reviews from music critics and reached number one in 13 countries including the United Kingdom, and United States. In the US, the album sold 1.216 million copies in its first week of release, making it the country's best-selling album of 2017, while with global sales of 4.5 million copies, it was the second best-selling album of 2017 worldwide. The album has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA, as of January 2018.

"Lover" (2019)

Lover is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on August 23, 2019, by Republic Records. As the executive producer, Swift worked with producers Jack Antonoff, Joel Little, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes, and Sounwave on the album. Described by Swift as "a love letter to love itself", the album celebrates the ups and downs of love and incorporates brighter, more cheerful tones, departing from the dark sounds of its predecessor, Reputation (2017). The album's cover art and music videos marked a change in Swift's visual appearance, which now embodies a summer-oriented look, consisting mainly of pastel colors. Musically, it is a pop, synth-pop, electropop and pop rock record that contains influences of country, dream pop, bubblegum pop, funk, pop punk, R&B, and indie pop.

Lover features collaborations with the Dixie Chicks and Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco. It was preceded by three singles: the international top-five singles "Me!" and "You Need to Calm Down", which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100; and the title track, which peaked in the top 10 of the Hot 100. "The Man" was released as the fourth single on January 27, 2020. The album received positive reviews from critics, who commended Swift's songwriting conveying emotional maturity and honesty.

"Folklore" (2020)

Folklore is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was a surprise album, released on July 24, 2020, via Republic Records. Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, Swift canceled the concert tour for her seventh studio album Lover (2019). She conceived Folklore during quarantine as "a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness", working with producers Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff virtually; Dessner and Antonoff operated from recording studios in Hudson Valley and New York City, respectively, while Swift recorded her vocals in a home studio at her Los Angeles residence.

"Evermore" (2020)

Evermore is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was a surprise album released on December 11, 2020, via Republic Records, less than five months after Folklore, her eighth studio album. Evermore was a spontaneous product of Swift's extended collaboration with her Folklore collaborator Aaron Dessner, mainly recorded at his Long Pond Studio in the Hudson Valley.

Swift described Evermore as an offshoot of "the folklorian woods"—an escapist, cottagecore-inspired direction she first ideated with Folklore during the COVID-19 pandemic; she regards them as sister albums. Evermore blends alternative rock, indie folk and chamber pop styles, carried by fingerpicked guitars, somber pianos, lavish strings, and sparse percussion.

"Midnights" (2022)

Midnights is the tenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 21, 2022, via Republic Records. Announced at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, Midnights marked Swift's first new body of work since her 2020 indie folk albums, Folklore and Evermore. It is a moody concept album about nocturnal ruminations, written and produced by Swift with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff.

Inspired by Swift's "sleepless nights", Midnights explores topics of anxiety, insecurity, self-criticism, self-awareness, insomnia, and self-confidence, with lyricism characterized as confessional yet cryptic. Sonically, it experiments with chill-out, electropop, dream pop, and bedroom pop styles, resulting from an alternative approach to synth-pop using analog synthesizers, drum machine, subtle grooves, and hip hop/R&B rhythms.

"The Eras Tour" (2023/2024)
user posted image

The Eras Tour is the ongoing sixth concert tour by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who described it as a journey through all of her "musical eras".
A homage to her 10-album discography, the Eras Tour is Swift's most expansive tour yet, with 151 shows across five continents.
It is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first to surpass $1 billion in revenue.

"The Tortured Poets Department" (2024)
The Tortured Poets Department is the eleventh studio album by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on April 19, 2024, by Republic Records.
Swift developed the album amidst the Eras Tour in 2023, with the resultant, heightened media scrutiny on her life inspiring the record.
Two hours after the album's release, it was expanded into a double album subtitled The Anthology, containing a second volume of songs.

"The Life of a Showgirl" (2025)
The Life of a Showgirl is the twelfth studio album by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on October 3, 2025, through Republic Records.
Inspired by the success of the Eras Tour and her romantic relationship with the footballer Travis Kelce, Swift conceived The Life of a Showgirl as a vibrant and lively
album to reflect the triumphant and joyful phase that she was experiencing. The end result is an upbeat pop and soft rock record about fame and newfound love;
Sabrina Carpenter is featured on the title track. Photographed by Mert and Marcus, Swift adopted a provocative, showgirl-inspired theme for the album,
which journalists described as the most glamorous and flamboyant visual aesthetic of her career. The album registered the highest single-day sales in US history,
with 2.7 million copies sold in its first day of release.
