When you apply cc and if you have new employment, they can't verify / find the new employment, it takes time for them to process it.

09/9: Faxed application to OCBC.
10/9: GST charged
14/9: Card Issued
17/9: Statement arrived, but where is my card!??!!
18/9: morning - went to OCBC branch to check. CS asked me to wait for few more days.
18/9: afternoon - card arrived!!! went tesco and swiped it..taadaa..

p/s:
-CL was 7.5k only, pathetic but enough for me to enjoy the rebates!
-They are damn hardworking when come to charging fees, even it is Hari Raya.
-The OCBC branch near my place, Tmn Molek JB is cool !! Open on Saturday and Sunday 930am-1pm!!
-Now waiting for the PIN…

haha..Singaporean banks tend to be "stingy". Same to UOB, they'll give you low credit limit and maintain it for years

Anyway, spoke to a customer service executive (OCBC calls it so) this evening. My call was answered in just a few seconds. Told my problem to the polite Malay guy who entertained me. He promised to call me back as soon as he got the feedback from the relevant department which he did. He called me back just before 6pm and told me that they did receive photocopies of my IC and credit card last week but they claimed that the credit card is still not clear. He politely asked me to resend them another copy of my credit card, preferably through email this time around. Hopefully thing goes smoothly this time

cimb is having ongoing promotion at their card centres. visa infinite / world mastercard approval within 1 hour and card can be collected on the spot.

my friends applied today. for those who don't wish to submit income documents and would like to use existing credit card, if your card is hsbc minimum existing CL required is 30k. if current citibank cardholder, minimum CL required is 50k. if maybank minimum current CL required is 70k.

1)One friend who currently has cimb platinum cards with 45k limit applied using his citibank platinum limit 50k was granted CL of 100k for his cimb world master / visa infinite.

2)Another friend who currently has direct access platinum cards with 40k limit applied using her citibank platinum limit 98k was granted CL of 150k for her direct access world master / visa infinite.

Both cards ready within an hour! Very efficient! Somemore get leather free gifts!

I will cancel in 6 months time... of course after I ultilise the net RM138 cash rebate (RM188 deduct 50 GST)...

Should be RM160. Anyway, they are also giving RM160 to those applying for the newly launched Advance VISA Platinum online too. And if you apply for the Advance account online, they will give you another RM30. So that's a total of RM190 free money 

Talking about SCB Preferred Banking World MC, this SCB really pissed me of. As shown in the e-statement, RM50 service tax was charged on 8/9. I received the security pin number on 21/9. However, until today I have not received the physical card yet. I called SCB several times and was given the reply that they are still in the midst of issuing the card.

As I will make a big swipe within these few days, I will not accept this card if I only receive it after using other CCs to make the payment.

This Advance VISA Platinum is a notch lower than the generic VISA Platinum. In terms of benefit, it would be more or less the same except that the latter has higher travel insurance coverage.

i read the fine prints for the ocbc titanium and it say the flight charge must be billed to the cc.... how if we wbook thru tour agency or matta fair? still can enjoy the access to klia lounge?

and it also stated 50% discount for travelling companion...meaning if wife also masuk must pay 50%? not free

You need to book tickets in a total of RM3000 or more. However, you need to check the T&C carefully ... I remembered that one bank requires you to book the ticket through their designated travel agency to enjoy this travel privileges. (And I don't remember which one)
Wife masuk must pay 50% of the stated fee. If your wife holds another card which entitles access to the lounge then she's entering on her own ticket and not yours. Do note that the access to the Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA and LCCT may be subjected to a monthly quota.

Just had a quick look at the T&Cs available here (link to PDF) for this new PB-Esso Mobil Visa Gold Credit Card.
Seems to be a good card to complement OCBC's Titanium Mastercard for those whose fuel expenses alone average RM500.00-800.00 (where you get 3.0% cash rebate (plus additional 3% for a total of 6% until 31 March 2011). Wef  1 April 2011, the additional 3.0% disappears...

AND for those who don't already hold a Citibank Cashback Platinum CC. I suppose very few forumers here spend in excess of RM1200.00 on fuel alone per month (RM600.00 max fuel rebate for Citibank and OCBC (subject to verification - as pointed out by ck_tonny, the OCBC savings calculator for fuel maxes out at RM600.00).
