Thanks
Seem like we all need to buy those 3rd party adaptor for in-car usage..Thanks for the tips.
but do you have any suggestion on the tablet holder in a car?
*
I am using the same car holder as the ipad bought for my son's ipad when using his car. Bought in Low Yat for RM 40/- but the last visit they not selling anymore. It is a huge monster with adjustable clamps. It can only clamp in landscape orientation only.

Those using Mapking, make sure you are using the latest maps released in Oct , download free from Malsing . I used to use either Mapking and Garmin on my previous WM. Overall I prefer Mapking for its accuracy while Garmin for its more friendly user interface and POI suggestions. Each has its own pros and cons

Now on my Android I use PagoX5 and Google Maps brut 16. For most uptodate maps it is of course Google Maps - I use it when I am going to more rural areas and newly developed places. Dont worry about incurring data download it is negligible. Once i was at Spore I was using GM Brut 16 for about 5 hours driving , my data charges while on roaming not even RM2 and that includes downloading emails too every hour !!
*
Thank u Benny888, will try to dl the latest Mapking maps from the web.

I also manage to root mine..not that hard actually because much of the details already been mention on the guide. Just that you need to register xda dev forum to download some of the files, that's a bit annoy since I dun like to register here and there just to download files.

anyway, may I know which particular shop that you bought that car charger? I might want to find those charger and in-car tablet holder this weekends at lowyat smile.gif
*
Sorry cannot remember the name of the shop but it is one of those aaccessories shops hidden at the back of the 1st floor selling handphones. Not that difficult to find and ask for car charger 2A @5v. Good luck hunting.

Anyone knows a link to the available games that are compatible to android tablets? I can only find those for phones.
*
I really enjoy playing Ninja Kaka, Angry Birds, Need For Speed Shift, Asphalt HD. The graphics are fantastic without any lag. They are better than playing PSP games.

app2sd for csl mi700 tablet devices... anyone did it
*
I have being using it quite a while, can be down loaded from the market. Is useful in the sense that applications can be moved to the sd card but the sad thing is not all applications support sd storage. The new ones can be moved like Angry Birds, Dolphin browser, Ninja Kaka, etc. The older ones like Need For Speed Shift (40+M) cannot be moved but in future updates they could be included.

Do you guys encountered can't received any SMS due to internal memory low (ex : below 15MB) ?

I notice once the internal memory is below around 15MB...SMS can't be received as you need at least 18MB above to receive SMS
*
Several people have reported to Google on this problem and I think Google is trying to fix the bug in later release of android software. So right now probably we have to keep our memory above 15MB in order not to miss any sms. Any software developers coming out with an sms software that stores in the sd card will be very welcome.

I suggest for a big screen phone and comfortable portability inside pants side pocket, consider the Dell Streak 5"n screen
*

My low memory problem solved since I rooted my Droidpad. Use Move2sd to move all my applications to the SD card. Now my internal phone memory is about 100Mb.

That's great...means we have to root the device, install CynaogenMOD which will enable Apps2SD...rite ?
*
Just root will do no need to install any Mod. I do not think any Mod has been developed yet. After rooting just go to the market and dl Move2sd.

Yes, I think your mobile networks settings are all screwed up, try resetting or go to Digi center to get it fixed up. Mine had no problem from day 1, just popped in the sim card and everything is automatic. By the way, mine is Digi post paid and the APN setting reads diginet.

Have been playing with Yahoo Messenger video call. The quality is so much better than Fring. Go ahead give it a spin you will love it. Here is what you must do:-

Download the 2 apks from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812548. You must install both the apks, one for Messenger and one for voice and video.
Go to your PC and download from Yahoo, the messenger (IM 10) and install it. Create a new account with yahoo and go to your Droidpad, open messenger and key in your new account. You are done and happy video calling.
You cannot video call yourself, you must have a friend in yahoo messenger. If you do not have a friend you can create another account in yahoo and start video call from your Droidpad to your pc.

Forget to mention, before u start video call u must go to camera and set the camera to front camera or else your back camera will be activated during the video call. If u forget it is ok, during a video call, just press the home button your call will be put on hold, go to camera to activate the front and go back to messenger to continue your call.

Hi hucqim80, thank you for your lengthy reply, I think I need more time to study using your recovery, especially the sdk part for using the adb. I have already rooted my device and the next step is to flash your recovery. I am a big fan of your work and thank you very much.

Great tutorial,
but may I know what the use of this Clockwork for Mi700?
*
What I understand from my limited knowledge of flashing roms is that this clockwork recovery is the first and necessary step before u can flash other custom roms. U need recovery to backup first. Then after flashing to other roms (changing your phone clothes they say) u want to recover or go back to the original rom, u need clockwork to do it. Hope I am right about this. Of course there are many capabilities of this rom which I am not aware of.

So far there is no custom rom developed yet for the MI 700 yet not like the HTC Desire where u can choose which rom to flash to have different capabilities.

many thanks for the explanation.
seem like a job for an advance droid user...
since there is no custom rom yet, means we not necessarily need to do the clockwork right?
*
I think benny has answered your question. The joy of being an android user is to have the ability to venture into new grounds and maximize the potential of your device. Wait for the sifus to cook some custom rom and you will truly appreciate your device for example making the device capable of handling flash or overclocking it so that your 600 cpu can go to higher speed.

Anyone with the front camera problem that cannot switched on for video conferencing? Only the back camera works , which is ridiculous then you want to make video call.

Tried to set camera to front at settings, but as soon as I exit the setting menu, it goes back to back cam.

ANyone can help???
*
I don't have such problem. Before video call I will go to camera to switch camera to front and then perform the video call with the front camera working.

Question:  After you had enabled the front camera in camera mode and then you exit camera mode.  rclxub.gif When you go back to camera mode again, does it stay at front camera mode or default to back camera?
*
It is the default one namely the back camera.
