Hi all,
I was considering the x-gear when it was launched, test drive it a few times then made booking, loan approved but until now still no news of delivery.. SA blamed the floods etc etc....

But then a friend recommend to try out sx4... So since nothing to lose.. Just went to see see.. Thought it looked abit weird.. But after test drive.............

Totally decided to get it!
Pick up and highway cruise speed handling is good..The steering feels good also, feels more like driving a car, x gear just too soft la.. Interior is good.. Love the armrest, especially when I reclinethe seat abit.. (arm rest is attached to seat).. 4 disc brakes, tires r also wider.. Look nicer than the skinny ones on xgear.
Steering wheel controls, boot size smaller but for me it's ok... Everything better than x gear except price and best of all ready stock smile.gif
Hehe...

I test drive at 2 diff dealers to make sure I wasn't bluffing myself since it slightly more exp than x gear.... And I think the looks kinda grows on you, certain angles it looks damm nice really. Anyone saw that rally pikes peak monster sx4 ??

My price? Got one quoted rm4500 off for 2010 stock... Now it's end nov 2011, 2 more months 2012.. Worth to buy or just get 2011 stock. Now processing loan, so got to decide which to take very soon

Is this really a big deal on second hand values? Can someone enlighten smile.gif

4500 leh! How?

Added on November 26, 2011, 10:04 pmbtw is there any different bet yr 2010 & 2011?

absolutely no difference... but 2009 models are different in interior and i believe output figures... 2010 & 2011 same.
but get it fast if want the 2010 model... coz....

in the end i just got the 2011 model.... sigh. was thinking about getting 2010 or not... then SA called to say somebody took it, paid deposit straight away.. nvm la... good things dont last but SA was cool to give me a slight discount off the 2011 model. my only contention was drive for 1 month then the car 2 years old on paper.. thats y got such a huge discount i guess.. smile.gif

can't wait for it to come though... the more i look at it.. the more i like the looks of it. shes really a beauty.

i'm in love haha rclxub.gif

As my wife was comparing between Nissan Livina X-Gear and SX4.

She like small suv car, that's why she considering this 2 cars.

And for what I saw from autoworld forum, X-Gear can get 11km/L for full city drive.  thumbup.gif

Hope to hear you update the latest fc for SX4 smile.gif

I prefer SX4 over X-Gear, but the main consideration still is the fc.

Any one else like to share his avg fc for full city drive with heavy jam?

Am in jb... My sx4 has about 3400kms now... To and from jb singapore almost everyday.. So quite jam...
On average my car tells m I'm doing consistently about 12.4.km/l...
But my real calculations are about rm82-85 @ 490-510km with caltex 95
But it's quite strange.... Every time i pump with shell which I used to do with previous car. I get only like 440km per tank.. Shocking! Dunno y.. Tested twice already but not sure why...

So even though th sx4 on board mileage computer tells me 12.4km/l.... Real life I'm getting about 10.88km/l to 11.86km/l... So still not too bad. smile.gif but seriously it's really the right foot la... And I the live mileage meter is training my right leg a lot after getting this car.. Hehe..

Car is really sweet to drive.... And yes boths cars are cbu but sx4 from japan x gear from Indonesia i believe... Wanted to get an x gear too but after testing out the car.. Feels sx4 materials and handling are better.... X gear suspension too soft, test out with whole family... Then u know what I mean...

Between SX4 n X-Gear, Suzy's NVH is more refined, feels better assembled n much more fun in terms of handling.

Nissan's edges ahead in terms of space, fc n perhaps maintenance.

Drive them both n ask urself wat's ur priority

Just brought my sx4 for her 5k service.... car is amazing, engine is smooth and i've read somewhere it really is best to leave it idling for a few mins in the mornings instead of reving it to get the temp up... makes sense to me.

handling so far is very decent.. i dont drive too fast, i believe reasonable speeds max around.. 110-130 on N-S highways.. not young and dangerous anymore haha. good at absorbing bumps and potholes... not sure its the suspension or tires doing the trick though.... coz my wife is driving a rav4 (1995 model) its old but the engine is still damm good so not letting it go, but bumps and potholes can really be felt inside.. not comparing la coz its a really old car. but i digress...

anyways... i have with me a maintenance chart just thoght it be good to share.. i also had one for xgear but threw it away during CNY house cleaning since not buying it. but did a comparison, you would be surprised to know regular maintenance sx4 is cheaper... oil, filter, labour, timing chain rubber belts set, spark plugs etc....refer list.. but to be honest i found disc brakes to be quite expensive..RM300-400 per set.. but of course its ori SUZUKI pricing... and for my previous car... i only changed it once/twice in its life of 9 years.. so maybe need to jaga a bit so still ok i guess. driveshafts also quite ex, but what you need to be aware of are the rubber boots at both ends where axle connect to the rims..not sure whats it called.. ori absorber at Rm850 is reasonable i guess, and there are aftermarkets too.. so those would be around less than 1/2 price. smile.gif usually after warranty period... i buy ori and get them installed at my regular mechanic.

hope someone might find this useful smile.gif

Well could u let us know at least how much is ur petrol consumption for ur car a month with city or city/mix driving?
*
hi all,
sx4 about 20k mileage.. too leave today to service...

currently mine FC is quite consistent, using only shell 95 or caltex 95.... no particular reason just cause its nearer to my work and home. full tank about rm81-rm83, 490-510km..

loving the car so far...
cheers!
