Have to agree. MONSTER way overpriced. I've got a MONSTER 3mtr HDMI bought for RM300, and a Monoprice 3m HDMI bought RM20, i cant tell the difference in PQ. You are free to do a side-by-side comparison at my place if you are still skeptical

Same case with you but I bought Monster at RM18x and after testing, maybe it's me, but I found no difference whatsoever. But if TS insist, you can find them in garage sales. |

Here is a good article regarding HDMI cable scam.
Buyer beware: Misleading HDMI cable labels suggest needless upgrades |

QUOTE(rahavsmt @ Aug 22 2010, 02:03 AM) Here is a good article regarding HDMI cable scam. uhh...that is so wrong bro...dun believe everything the internet says.Buyer beware: Misleading HDMI cable labels suggest needless upgrades I'm not asking everyone to buy monster, you can buy BJC, monoprice or even whatever that meets the current/future specification, but as a general, as technology advances, our old HDMI might not be good enough to cater for it. If you are playing with common setup (probably upscale DVD to a midrange HDTV) than its OK to say that all HDMI cable will work. Nowadays with 10bits, 12bit deepcolor and the recently RealD being a new standard of things to come, suddenly, when you buy all these players, AVR and HDTV, you'll find out your current chapalang HDMI just doesn't work in that environment. Hell, even my Dune players included HDMI cable doesn't pump out 12bits even though the player can be set that high with certain combinations |

There is no such thing as speed rated cable. Once you get a 1.3 HDMI cable you get all the features that you mentioned above. |

It doesn't matter if it costs RM30 or RM300. If it works, it works. Using Monster Cable is not going to give you anything extra, and if it does, it is doing something to the signal that it should not have been doing. It is out of spec.BTW, you don't need to buy HDMI 1.4 with Ethernet if your hardware doesn't use Ethernet to share data. fuad |

Monster is conning the public the speed rating, bandwith rating, etc. If the cable passed the spec for 1.3 or 1.4, it should be able to what the respective specs say they should.BTW, you don't need to buy HDMI 1.4 with Ethernet if your hardware doesn't use Ethernet to share data. fuad |

Yup, I understand your mind set....Monster cables are the greatest cons on earth |
