i don't think so, last night i fought terran players almost every match, till i'm bored of them lol

well, maybe protoss is popular because perhaps it is easier to learn to use?

I'm a new player and I find Protoss to be easier to use. Considering that their 'static' strategies work in many conditions. Besides, micro-management is not as much as Zerg.

the only thing i like protoss becoz they have plasma shield....so their defend is better than terran & zerg.....2 marine can't even beat 1 zealott.....my fav protoss unit is dark templar...

Well in terms of managing your base and collecting resource minerals per minute unlike all the races well the other two races toss only have to focus on getting their building down at the right time because all they need to do is put a frame of their pylon down and it will warp it self hence which gives the protoss user free to do other thing compared to a terran user and zerg who have to focus on building that particular building which does leave them at a slight disadvantage (in terms of mineral ) .

Protoss units are extremely powerful when used carefully and less reliance on micro ( broodwar) and not only that 1 gateway only cost around 150 minerals from that you only need to add on other buildings to get different unit pretty simple and easy while other races unit the emphasis on you want it you got it which means extra gases and heavy minerals do slow up the ability to produce units faster compared to protoss for example making units from fact . On the other hand sc2 well macro has been screwed up big time ( made it easier) Mbs anyone ? hence making protoss the much preferred race for newbies like me ^^. Although I love terran very much but using that race is pretty hard core well single player is okay but multiplayer it's definitely a no no .

protoss unit is powerful , u dont need to control too much(micromanagement) when a smaller force gives u the same power as a zerg bigger force .

for example . when situation comes (narrow terrain ) ur zerg unit will fall .

but for me . i prefer zerg . cos i mass rush units . but protoss cant .

zerg more fun coz they bully u like 5v1 LOL

Most league/custome Ai game i played most player seems to be using Terran, so i believe newbie like to use Terran.
Anyway i like random.

based on statistic posted, 40% of the players are terran (highest) and half of the top 10 for US and EU combined are terran

many of my games are protoss, random, terran...(in order from the most till the least)

so far oni met 2 zerg and believe it or not...those 2 are RANDOM 1...
