for what i know the light is a set of red led light, right??? those led light wont consume much electricity that it doesn't increase the load of your brake light system...

in my opinion u better check the wiring, the wires along from the connector to the spoiler light... if no broken then check the led pcb inside... mayb got improper soldering or something which cause short circuit...
