yup yup second that.... In  short range, don't really need VR.doesn't make much different tho.

Long without VR is like shoes without vibration

VR - Vibration Control

You know when you shoot picture, sometime your hand will shake a bit right?

VR compensate it by making it steadier.

This is quite apparent when you are zooming at further range as even the slightest vibration will be amplified by the distance of zoom.

what i'm saying its yes VR is important when you are using the long end of a mid-range zoom, but the 18-105mm although it has VR but it's very limited, esp in low-light coz of the small apeture it offers f/3.5 - 5.6

by upgrading from 18-55 to 18-105 just for VR its not worth it, you might as well save up some money get a better mid-range zoom that totally out-class the 18-105 like the tamron 17-50 which offer f/2.8 at all range

whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif Or can say like this...

Long range without VR is like Car withouth grip/break...
Imagine when you are going on a high speed and there's a turn and you want to drift...imagine that...or when you run downhill withouth the vibration/grip...imagine that...

rolleyes.gif Ditch that 18-105 lar.....change lens also must see wat kind of pics you want to take?are you sure you want that? what your budget...this that

overall is on wat you need

Why care so much VR on that tiny 18-55mm lens??

On the small range offered by 18-55mm you don really need VR...and 1 mroe thing there's more for you to learn with that 18-55mm lens too smile.gif

smile.gif You need to be patience....patience bro patience...

Outdoor photography should be no problem la, Shutter speed will be fast enough for most of the things.

For indoor, I don't really like to use pop-up fill flash and even you have VR, the pictures will still be blurr if your subject is constantly moving. I prefer playing with with rear-curtain flash with light trails, like this one. biggrin.gif
