QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 1 2010, 09:07 AM) Lol.... this is a nice example, juz last yr ur flash skill improved so much eh, U took this using direct flash with stofen? Does demb diffuser really produce much pleasant looking lighting on people? Hahaha, I can't recall what settings I used back then too. But then again, venue is dark and I probably was relying to flash too much. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 2 2010, 12:08 AM) Wat's da diff btw alkalines n nimh batteries? seng87 said rechargable slower compared to normal alkalines From my experience, rechargeables are much faster. NiMH retains higher current output as compared to conventional alkalines. You guys can try it out, the first time I used my SB900 I was using those duracell copper head. Recharge was pretty horrible, but after changing to Eneloop rechargeable, fuh damn fast! |

QUOTE(seng87 @ Sep 2 2010, 10:17 AM) Alkaline battery voltage is rated at 1.5v whereas the Rechargeable battery are rated at 1.2v, hence recycle time of the flash under stress condition, Alkaline battery will always faster than Rechargeable battery.. Sounds not convincing.? True, but alkaline does not sustain 1.5v at load. Initially when I first started using flash, I have the same exact thoughts as you. My first set of AA batteries were alkaline (Duracell Copperhead), went event with my friend and was wondering how come my SB900 recharges slower compared to his. Both D90 + 18-105 + SB900. Only differences is the batteries. After that when I got my set of Eneloop, the recharge rate is noticeable faster. Besides, using Alkalines the recharge rate get slower as the battery drains, where else nimh rechargeable are able to retain the recharge rate until almost depleted. Reason I carry 2 sets is because I don't want to charge my battery half way... so use until finish, switch, use until finish switch...

Search around, there's a head on comparison between Eneloop and Imedeon before. Eneloop wins performance wise, capacity Imedeon. But the 100mAh is uh.. not significant.

Been reading reviews on the D3100, the sensor seems really great. Close to D700's ISO or maybe better @_@.

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Sep 4 2010, 11:39 PM) may i ask y not juz use A mode? Because, if the lighting condition is constant let's say my subject change from black to white it will throw off the metering. Means when my subject is more on white, it will go a bit under due to metering it to grey instead of white. If my subject is more to black, then my meter would try to meter it to grey thus overexposed.if u straightaway go manual... ull need a lot of time to set up juz for a simple shot. nothing pro abt that |
