Planning to subscribe for netflix(USD 9.99 per month), but am abit worry about the connection speed though. So need some input from the guys over here. Even on unifi 5mb, im getting interrupted buffering time. Might be due to the vpn server, but i need to test it further to tell for real.

*
how's the content like for netflix? I am still considering if i should subscribe it. Connection is not a problem since i'm on 10mbps at home and 2mbps wireless when i'm out, both unlimited.

Anybody bought iPad at PJ so far?
And if the warranty is an international warranty?
*
PJ meaning parallel importer ? iPad have not been officially release in Malaysia.

To get Wifi or 3G really depends on your lifestyle and where you would use the iPad more frequently. If you do not plan to take it everywhere you go and use it mostly at home, then by all means - get the wifi only unit. Getting the 3G, you will gain mobility but also additional monthly expenses for the 3G data subscription. Personally, I have also bought a 32GB wifi only unit paired with a Dlink 3G router when the iPad first came out and upgraded to a 64GB wifi + 3G unit later. I just enjoy not having to bring additional devices and worry about the short 3 to 4 hours battery life of such devices (Dlink 3G router).
*
the dlink 3G router is not truly a travel router in a sense that you still need a 3G usb stick. Best solution so far is Huawei E585 mifi, which use normal sim & smaller than most of your mobile device. With the price difference of around sgd$200 for the 3G+wifi & wifi only version, one could have easily get the E585 for just slightly more.
Surprisingly, not many are aware of the mifi existence sad.gif

So now confirm maxis don't train their staff well. I posted here in may that the maxis staff at batupahat do not even know what is a micro sim. Only one staff was aware and she took initiative go online to check the enhanced data package
*
actually they do not have to know since iPad & iPhone4 is not officially release in Malaysia. They do not have equipment that would require the use of micro sim. why would maxis wanna train their staff on equipment they don't carry ?

This means the apple reseller have to export to country that apple still still don't want to go
*
nope. apple reseller do not do delivery. just sell on the spot. unless they offer freebies, the locals just won't bite.

oh...imma so poisoned rite now  sweat.gif

if i were to go buy an Ipad in singapore rite now, does it work in merehsia if i use local sim card like maxis /digi?

or do i haveta jailbreak it or something?

also anyone can suggest some place to buy it preferably an authorized seller in sing?
*
I can order iPhone/iPad whichever set you want. add SGD50 on top of retail price, deliver to anywhere in Sg. btw there's NO guarantee you'll get a set from apple premium reseller when you came down to Sg.

hello,

Does anyone of you uses zagg screen protector? I find its very expensive (cost around RM299 per sheet)

Is it recommended to apply both side?
*
i'm using zagg screen protector for iPad and iPhone4. You could tell it's made from high quality material and thicker than normal screen protector. I direct order from their website and still have one spare for the iPad. pm me if you are interested biggrin.gif
i'm also using zaggbuds smile.gif ...their ear piece

i always go for Zagg's invincibleShield. best part is they got the Shield spray for very easy installation. you can't expect less from a company that designed shields for helicopter blades smile.gif

Formed in March 2005, Salt Lake City-based ShieldZone discovered it could use a film originally created to protect the leading edges of military helicopter blades to also shield handheld electronics with its patent-pending processes. Since then, ShieldZone has introduced more than 500 products to protect mp3 players, iPods, MacBooks, PDAs, cell phones, GPSrs, digital cameras, watch faces and other handheld devices. For more information on the invisibleSHIELD™ and ShieldZone, visit SHIELDZONE.

Apart from this news, i've contacted my friends who work at marketing division in Maxis. He told that they already received email regarding launching iPad to Malaysia. He safely say the device will be coming into our market at least before 2011, probably during 4th quater 2010.

the word is 'tidak lama lagi', which translate to 'endless wait' in Malaysia. tongue.gif
