QUOTE(Bliz @ Nov 23 2010, 10:24 AM) U probably need to test more, try checking out the ugly bokeh of 55-300 first before u say so well, u get what u pay for. cant expect miracles. i found the bokeh is still acceptable. example at 300mm. ![]() or u may check my FB..my straight on experience with the 55-300VR.no third party internet reviews. just wanna share. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=119...100001584613502 or the whole album here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=119...100001584613502 not saying that its superior than 70-300VR(1.8k-2.2k,depend on places), but for the price(1.15k-1.3k), it's very very acceptable and the IQ wasnt too far off, if not as good. anyway, i think we are way off topic. this is the show off your new gadgets thread. hehehe..taaa.. |

If the photos i saw from your fb are indication of the quality, i would say the 55-300 is way softer than the 70-300vr i found the bokeh is still acceptable. example at 300mm. |

What flexibility ? Mind to explain to me ? 50mm on crop is tight.

maybe he just meant either get a Fast Lens(50 mm 1.8 is the cheapest out there) or get a flash..whichever comes first doesnt really matter since the other guy is just starting up..by flexibility i think he meant about the ability of the lens in low light condition, not the 50mm thing.it's about aperture.
ps: i personally dont know who chiahau is,but i think it's not that hard to understand what he was trying to share with us, really. This post has been edited by fatani: Nov 24 2010, 11:55 AM |

So under low light group photo what you gonna do ?
Kit lens is sufficient and pair with flash. Of course 50mm is good to have but it's not a must. Creative shot yes, low light flash play it way better. I say it from my opinion tho. |
