hi walabies,

I guess maybe it would be more appropriate to put my queries here... smile.gif, and hope you can give me some good recommendations.

I am looking for a good SQ headset, comfortable for long hour use, compact and fold-able is a plus point since I will be using it a lot for traveling, good sound isolation and good leakage handling, and I like clean clarity sound with some bass.

My source would be my Hi-Fi set at home, ipod when traveling, and notebook/ipod when in office.

My budget would be not more than RM1500.

many thanks.

besides ATH ES7 / ESw9
i think the only option is IEM.

IEM = In-Ear?

I would prefer over the ear type, as I dun feel comfortable inserting objects into my ears ... tongue.gif

Yes. How do u want it to compare with? With which type of music?
They are very different sounding in overall but I would say es7 more "generally acceptable" sound to most of us.

I guess the best way is to listen to it myself ... but some how the shops that I found here in Dubai doesn't allow testing, as they are not professional audio shops but instead are just general electronic shops.

Anyway, I will try to make a short trip back to Kuala Lumpur either this week or end of this week, will visit your shop then ... must test kao kao then.

Their loss I suppose. I don't see how anyone can close a sale without allowing potential customers to test. I mean, it's not like the headphones are worth half a country's GDP. I've never experienced this in KL but then again I've only gone to less than 10 shops but pretty much the same. I can see why Jaben adopt the same approach although I'm beginning to sense its more out of passion rather than purely profit oriented having read up both here and SG forums.

BTW, what's the most expensive headphones? I've seen million dollar setups for HT but what about headphones? How does one purchase that? Surely got test unit right?  blush.gif

I guess it's not the shop's fault, as the shop that I went to is more of a general electronic shop (Virgin Megastore in Mall of Emirates), dun think they have samples or testers there opened for testing except for the Beats by Dr Dre on promotion, it is like our Best Denki or HSL or SenQ ...

But I do see some professional Audio shop in The Dubai Mall here, which specialized in Denon & Marantz, Harman House, Bose, Nakamichi and etc.

Went in to the Denon & Marantz shop, the sales person was too busy entertaining a couple on HiFi system, so walk out without requesting for any testing.

Anyway, saw Denon AH-P372, AH-301, AH-501, AH-1001, AH-2000, AH-5000 and AH-7000 there, at very attractive price.

Lovely photograph. Nice bokeh. smile.gif.
Anyway, we use our ear and brain to listen. Actually we can analyse good sound and bad sound through our brain. Our ear capability remain same but our nerve is trained to recognize and feel the sound.
